The reception area of the hotel gives a poor first impression and the dirty carpets in the corridors don’t help. The room itself was large, clean, well decorated with some good quality furniture. However, the double bed was a small double and the mattress needed replacing, leading to an uncomfortable night’s sleep.
The bar, although a bit rustic, appeared to the best place for a drink in Buckingham. It had a good selection of real ales and the staff were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was good and although the white tiled floor and decor were fine for breakfast it might have too much of a cafeteria feel for an evening meal.
One tip; If you’re lucky enough to get a space in the car park next to the hotel, rather than the overspill car park further down the road, then don’t unpack your car until you know where your room is as the hotel has several entrances, one of which may be nearer.More
