Coffee and light lunch in the bar. The Saracens caters, as you would expect, to the Beaconsfield crowd who shop at Waitrows and send their children to the very good local prep school. So lots of nice welcoming sofas, and at 11am plenty of room but still sufficient buzz.
The menu promises much and slightly under delivers; the seared tuna salad was a cooked-to-blandness fillet albeit atop a creative combination of leaves and fruit. The pizza Rusticana was very good with a thin crispy base.
Staff were all friendly and helpful, although slightly disorganised. The fact the the cutlery is provided DIY, in a manner reminiscent of a motorway service station, confused several customers that we noticed, and would be an easy thing to improve.
Will go back. So perhaps 3 stars was a bit harsh.
