Visited The Cape, this morning, and had the most wonderful scones ever. They were moist, fresh and full of flavour. The atmosphere at lunch time was good. The staff look after, without being over bearing. Personally I think it is the best Cafe in the area.

On a visit to Beaconsfield we decided to go here for lunch as it is rated #1 and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent (I had the soup of the day and chicken curry). Service was prompt and friendly. A South African influence is evident in the deli out front. Only minor downside is that, given its popularity and the décor, it is quite noisy.

I used to own the Famous Fish in Old Amersham and went to The Cape and ordered a fish dinner recently. It was superb! These guys can do fish, which you would think is not that difficult but I'm tired of eating badly cooked fish in the local area (Chilterns).

Not with these guys they really did a superb job of taking a good piece of fish, cooking it simply and letting the fish do the talking off the plate. I would be back for a fish dinner ( could not comment on the other meal items but they looked well cooked and well presented).

My husband and I tried out the Cape for dinner last night having walked past a few times - it has a lovely atmosphere, a great wine list and our food was excellent!
