Modern, clean bedrooms and superb breakfast! Best of all the cheerful, helpful staff made our stay a delight. Thank you. Don't stay anywhere else when visiting Old Amersham. Excellent value for money.

The room was clean and spacious, staff was very helpful, breakfast was nice and fast, there was a small problem but they rectified it very well. I recommend this place as a lovely get away from London, not far and you feel in the country side. Four Weddings and a Funeral was filmed at this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 214, first floor at the back.

I stayed on business on a flying visit, and did not have breakfast, since I was too rushed for a meeting. The staff were very attentive, check-in easy, and when I had to change my reservation the week before due to personal reasons, they were v helpful and did it, even though technically I should have lost the money since it was a non-refundable price/booking. I did appreciate that.

Also, I did not use the restaurant, but ate in the bar instead. When you arrive you drive through a wonderful Tudor archway and into a good size carpark (free), so could not be easier. I stayed in an "Executive Room" in the new annexe, which was just like any charmless 3 or 4 star chain hotel room, and the annexe just a long corridor of such rooms. All spotless and well equipped, but at total variance with the genuine old world charm of the original inn building with it's old rafters and beams. So if you're taking your partner for a romantic night of old-world charm, then be careful when you book to go for the deluxe or stable rooms or suites in the main building.

The bar again is very charming and rustic, wooden beams, window nook seat, old wooden tables, large fireplace, and is just like you'd expect an old historic inn to be, and it also has regulars watching football at the bar, but sound v v low and non-intrusive. Barman was v attentive and helpful. I sat in a cosy corner and was offered the opportunity to have the restaurant menu but eat in the bar. I had a v good chicken supreme, which was freshly cooked with v good chips and a big tasty salad. V reasonably priced and the Primitivo sold by the glass was excellent.

The only thing I would say is that I wonder how hot the executive rooms would be in the summer, as I stayed in late Oct and had to open a window, which I felt uncomfortable doing since I was on the ground floor and the catch did not seem so secure. So might be best to play safe and ask for upstairs annexe room if you go for the executive rooms. Otherwise, can't fault anything, and staff very helpful and friendly in their welcome and service.

Room Tip: If in the executive rooms in annexe, either check there is air con, or take an upstairs room so you...

I stayed here on business, and it was great! The entire town is quaint to say the least, and this hotel fits right into that description. The building is old, so hallways are narrow, stairs creak, and the doors are short (see picture). However, everything inside is renovated and comfortable, albeit strangely laid out at times. I stayed in the main building, but the hotel also has other buildings, some old, some new. The staff were friendly and hospitable. All amenities are provided - shampoo/conditioner in one, soap, lotion, iron, hair dryer.

Breakfast is included and is decent. There is a cold food buffet, and you can also order made-to-order hot items off the menu.

There is a bar across the way that also serves food. I had dinner there, and it was quite good.

Internet (wifi and by hard-wired ethernet) is available. No gym.

We stayed in August for one night. It was lovely to be in the centre of Old Amersham and the view from our hotel window was lovely. But the room itself was out in the new block - characterless, basic and served its purpose. The window was high and I only saw the view because I stood by the window to get daylight to out my makeup on! I think the hotel is usually pricey and probably gets away with it due to its location - but this was not a room I would want to spend much time in and I endorse other comments about basic hotels. Breakfast was ok. Overall I would probably consider staying again if I could try for a room in the main hotel building.

Stayed here one night on business. Nice clean and well appointed rooms. Excellent parking and well placed in middle of amersham. Evening meal and breakfast absolutely fine. Staff friendly and can't see what more one could want for the price.
