“Open weekend afternoons only. Local history well presented”
Reviewed May 6, 2012

It took me about an hour to look around this pleasant local history museum. It is well laid out over two floors and the garden is neatly presented with plants and herbs. The volunteer stewards were very enthusiastic and were keen to point out things of interest. £2 admission fee for adults. Opening times are 2-4.30pm weekends and bank holiday Mondays. There are also guided town walks that leave from the museum at 2.30pm on Sunday afternoons.

“Worth a visit if nearby”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

Small museum with limited opening hours. We found it a very interesting way to spend an hour or so. Enthusiastic staff who were keen to explain the history of the area. Well worth a visit if you are staying in Old Amersham

“Small but perfectly formed!”

They cram an awful lot into it. Children can take things out of drawers and handle them which makes it more interesting.

“A local place for local people”
Reviewed August 15, 2011

If you want to find out mire about Amersham then this us a great place to visit as it's, what it says on the tin, all about Amersham. Interesting pieces on Amersham through the ages and, funnily enough, nothing about the great wall of China. Worth a visit if you're local.

“Small Town Museum”
Reviewed September 25, 2009

This museum is to be found in the High Street in Old Amersham. It is a small museum set in a Tudor house.I have to say that many of the displays were of no great interesting to me.I am not greatly interested in the art of chair making.!IIt actually took me a round trip of 4hours by public transport and i was only in the museum for half and hour.So i cannot say that this was the most worthwhile trip ever.Whethre you like it depends if you are interested in the items exhibited. It is not worth a special trip.
