Adventure Inn Bed and Breakfast
Reviewed July 21, 2013

A beautiful B&B on the shores of Lake Huron! My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights in June in the Aft Cabin room. Gorgeous location, lovely views and attentive hospitality made our stay super comfortable. Some highlights: Luxurious bedding, fantastic shower (thank you Sandy for your decorating ideas and contacts), scrumptious breakfast and the peaceful sounds of the Lake lapping the shores coming through the open balcony doors. Well done Sandy and Nicholas! Thank you for allowing us a home away from home in Lakeport.

Firstly the Inn owners are wonderful. Sandy and Nicholas invite you to their home as if you are family. This Inn is the cleanest Inn ever. The View of Port Huron, breathtaking as you pull up to the Inn. We had the Toy Box. This room is very large and fun. The decor is really fun to look at. Games available, but who wants to stay in inside when you are right there a 2 minute walk to the private beach. Have a paddle boat available for guests. The weather was somewhat cool. But we got in enough and enjoyed the waves to have a fun time. Walking the beach, awesome. Only a short 15 minute drive and you see restaurants, a Mall , Walmart, all kind of stores and places to eat on a very long strip. Makes it is easy, 24th street. Breakfast, yummy, Nicholas is a fantastic cook and Sandy has some kind of yummy homemade treat in the evening for you. We did not want to leave, and so want to return. Check out there site they also have a private cottage for a full family, several couples etc. Three nights were not enough. See the Lighthouse if you can. Nice tour.

Room Tip: The two rooms in the house are both nice. Toy Box is somewhat bigger. Have great views in both rooms...

We stayed two nights and three days in the Toy Box Room. Abundant personal touches made our stay extraordinary. We loved the cozy feel of the Inn--having only two guest rooms made it peaceful. We enjoyed lake breezes gently blowing through our open windows. Remote controlled skylights allowed bright sunlight to fill the room. Soft and silky bed sheets upon perfect pillows and the Italian mattress were wonderful. Antique treasures, details of decor, and gourmet breakfasts served with loving care...I could go on. We forgot our responsibilities and felt like royalty for a little while. It was fabulous.

Room Tip: Both rooms have windows facing the water. The Toy Box room is spacious.

My boyfriend and I stayed here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. It was the perfect place to spend time together and relax away from our busy lives! Sandy and Nicholas were great hosts! They were very friendly and welcomed us into their home. Their house is beautiful. We stayed in the Toy box room and it was amazing! It has fun decorations and comfy seats with a gorgeous view of the lake! We really felt spoiled with cookies left in our room while we were out to dinner and a gourmet breakfast the next morning. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a relaxing weekend getaway or beach vacation in the summer!

I am not a big B&B fan overall - many are too stuffy or pretentious for my liking.

Having said that, the Adventure Inn B&B in North Lakeport is TREMENDOUS.

My wife and I were looking for a special night away to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and the owners Sandy and Nicholas did not disappoint. They have an utter inviting, unique B&B on Lake Huron that cannot be beat. Coming from Metro Detroit, we were surprised how close it is yet how it feels up North. Once you leave Port Huron, a few minutes later you arrive at Adventure Inn and stress and worries depart you. Sandy and Nicholas do not make this feel like a stuffy B&B. They make you feel like you are their house guests.

Sandy was a great resource for the general area and offered up several dining options for us. We choice the Van Camp House about 20 miles North in Port Saniliac for it's fine dining. Exceptional meal and experience there. When we got back, an ultra inviting real fire was going in the fireplace. We sat with some wine and relaxed before retiring to our ultra nice, ultra spacious Tox Box room.

Thank you Sandy and Nicholas for a wonderful experience! We did not want to leave and will be back soon.

Room Tip: If you want a large spacious room, pick the Tox Box. If weather is nicer and you want a private bal...

This is our third time staying at the Adventure Inn. This was our fist time, however, to use the "Sandy Cottage" and our first time to visit in the winter. Sandy cottage is a lovely and comfortable house with stunning views of the lake, a beautiful kitchen, a cozy fireplace, and spacious bedrooms. We have stayed in the B&B part of the Adventure Inn which is equally comfortable and features the same panoramic views of Lake Huron. Breakfast is a feast of locally grown goodies and served in the dining room where you can watch the sun come up over the lake and beach.

Our hosts, Nicholas and Sandy are the most gracious, helpful, and hospitable couple on the planet. We love this place and will return soon.

David & Jan
