“A little peace of heaven!”
Reviewed July 22, 2010

I don't know why on earth I waited this long to write a review of this little corner of heaven!

We were 5 girls traveling from Italy and found this place by chance in August 2008. Thank you Jim and Marianne for the wonderful place you keep!
It's clean, quiet, comfortable and has a special energy about it. The rooms are spacious and cosy ad very clean. The breakfast was perfect and if you had any questions at all the host and hostess were more than happy to help you out.

I would love to return someday and really recommend you vist!

We stayed for two nights over the Memorial Day weekend. The Inn is close to Freeport, yet out in the country which was lovely. They have alpacas, llamas, chickens and ducks in back, which were fun to look at.... and we had the fresh eggs for breakfast one morning! The couple that are now running the Inn have owned the place for three years and seem up to the task, they were very professional, but also very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was handicapped accessible, had a fireplace with gas log and a king sized bed. Only down side was that we could hear the people up stairs a bit more than we would have liked, but that could have been because they had a tired two year old. All in all, I would recommend this place.

My husband and I stayed here on a getaway this spring. As innkeepers ourselves, we are always on the lookout for nice places where we can be taken care of. We found Jim and Marianne's inn to be very comfortable and charming. They served such a lovely breakfast and were great hosts. If you go, book a massage with Marianne; it's the cat's meow and a perfect addition to a great stay. Keep up the great work you two!

We have stayed at this charming inn several times while visiting Bowdoin College, where our daughter is now a student. The inn is set in an historic old house complete with slightly sloping floors and antiques. The hosts, Jim and Marianne, are warm, interesting, and helpful. The breakfasts are superb, and there are usually tea and fresh-baked cookies set out in the evenings. Everything is arranged to help guests feel comfortable and relaxed. It's worth the extra few miles driving from Brunswick or Freeport to stay here.

I liked this inn. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The host and hostess were friendly, and took the time to try to get to know their guests. The house does sit on route 136 and was noisy early in the evening, but did quiet down by the time you wanted to hop in bed. The location is great. We slept quite good.I do not like staying in Freeport because all the hotels are either on Route 1 or back up to I-295 which is way too loud. The breakfast was very nice both days we stayed. I liked the added little touch of a Sunday paper sitting at our bedroom door when we woke up. The price was reasonable too. If you are looking for a nice BB you won't be disappointed by this one.
