Lovely place once you can locate it as there are no signs, went with my wife and our two teenage kids and we all had a really enjoyable meal. The initial service was quite slow but once the owner came over talked us through the menu and gave us his opinion, all four of us enjoyed the food. Note when you order the duck dish a whole duck is served up which we could of all quite easily shared and if you go for a starter order the French Onion soup... excellent

This place was AWESOME. After a few terrible meals at Hawks Cay, we decided to go off site for dinner. Hideaway Cafe was about 3 miles down the road on Marathon Key. We pulled into a shabby little motel called the "Rainbow Resort," and I was shocked to find this fine dining restaurant hidden on the top floor. The atmosphere was perfect, and the food was excellent. It's definitely a must! Perfect for a romantic dinner on the water! Note: If you sit outside, bring bug spray. The tiny bugs get through the screen. We sat inside, and still had wonderful views of the water with romantic lighting.

The waiter would not write our orders down even though we told him that our party of six had food allergies and special dietary needs . He actually asked us why we ordered salads if we did not like the anchovies that came on the salads! I ordered a $38 steak with no seasonings and it came back loaded with pepper. Substitutions like mussels for scallops were made without even asking us. There were only two dinner parties in the restaurant and we were told that they ran out of NY strips- not very good for a place famed for its steaks. My filet was also ordered rare and it came medium. If you enjoy dining on the beach, it does have a nice view . Expect zero cooperation, high prices, and arrogant staff. I rarely write bad reviews and this one is only my second poor review.

I had full rack of lamb $38 which was excellent, daughter had surf and turf shrimp on a skewer and filet - the filet was incredibly tender, boyfriend had full roast duck and he said it was done perfectly. Don't let the dated look of the Rainbow Bend hotel fool you - this restaurant is first class. Being the Keys, don't feel like you have to dress up. Restaurant overlooks Atlantic Ocean from 2nd floor with incredible views. Wine selection excellent. If you want romance on your vaca, this is the place.

There are a few other alternatives, but generally the food is for whats there in the neighbourhood good, not outstanding, just good, prices on the high side.
We enjoyed the view and the place was busy even in off season times.
