We were staying in Akumal, and since the bay is so over crowded we have spent the last two years at this beautiful place. We don't go for the food, but for the beach. You have to pay $4 each just to get in, then you have to pay $12 each for the second tier palapa and two chairs, or $25 for oceanfront umbrella and two loungers, which means your rental is free as long as you each spend that amount or more on food and drinks...otherwise you pay $10 each for the palapa and chair on second tier...the beach is the main attraction here, as is the view! There was some wave action, but not enough to keep anyone from having a leisurely swim. The bottom is sandy, with a few rocks thrown into the mix , but no slimy seagrass, and that is a good thing. We had to order our $12 each, so it just so happened that the small shrimp cocktails were $12. They were very good, and the service chair side and table side are great...I would spend my time here rather that try to compete with the droves of tourists in Akumal bay...love this place not crowded at all!
