We just spent 5 nights a Costa deCocos. On Christmas Day we joined other guests for a delicious family style turkey dinner. The place is wonderful. I was worried that we would be bored, but with snorkelling just off the dock and fantastic diving all around, we could have easily stayed longer. We saw nurse sharks, eagle rays, moray eels, more tropical fish than you'll see in a Disney movie right off their dock everyday. The beach is pleasant and has a perfect spot to hang your hammock and read under the swaying palms. Mike fixed our family up in the resort's kayaks and we paddled down to the mangrove swamp in search of crocs (didn't see any). Saw lots of brown pelicans, herons and egrets. We even saw a lone pink flamingo flying overhead. We did 5 dives. 4 with XTC and only one with Steve at Costa de Cocos. We would have done more with Steve, but he was booked with dive vacationers. The circular palapa roofed rooms were immaculate and bug free. At night the place was silent and peaceful. My only complaint was the lousy coffee. Keesey in the kitchen was extremely kind to all of us. My teenage boys especially enjoyed his presence. There is wireless access in the main building if you must stay connected, but our family greatly enjoyed getting away from it all. It was fun to listen to the dive trip people recount their adventures in the communal dining area in the evenings.
