I've eaten a lot of unusual foods from far flung places but Mayan cuisine is very new to me and a very different experience than typical Mexican fare. If you want to give it a try, come to this pretty little city and enjoy a great experience at this intimate restaurant next to a very old convent. When your meal begins with grilled watermelon stuffed with farmer's cheese, you know you are in for a treat. My husband had the cochinita pipil which he raved about and I had a bowl filled with shredded pork, cilantro, lime juice, onion and tomato. Incredibly tasty and accompanied by a basket of fresh tortillas. The service is excellent and there are so many wonderful dishes with seafood, chicken meat and vegetables. I highly recommend it.
