“hidden peace”

This well-preserved convent exceeded my expectations. The interior of the church was nicer and better adored than the main cathedral in Valladolid centro. The grounds are well maintained, and features huge lawns and a peaceful neighborhood.

“A must do in Valladolid”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2014

Loved this place. Beautiful and peaceful - we wandered around the building and grounds for some time. There's a little room with some history about how they did the restoration and what they found. We almost didn't make it here but so glad we did. Stopped for lunch at Taberna de los Frailles afterwards, which is right next door. The short walk back to the centre of town along Avenue of the Friars is lovely - a beautiful, quiet, and photogenic street. On the way you'll pass by the chocolate shop, perfumery, and tequila shop (pushy salespeople giving samples of delicious but expensive tequila.)

“Beautiful Old Building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

This is a beautiful old building to walk around and look at.

An opportunity is being missed at this site to have a knowledgeable person on staff to do tours and share the historic information of this building.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the city.

There is also a lovely restaurant / bar beside the back parking lot where we stopped for a drink afterwards.

Wonderful to see this really old church and friary. Special visit. Make sure you walk around, check out the courtyard and the gardens and the water wheel.
