I've been in many hostels but none had this vibe. This place is cozy, clean and gives you a great feeling of relax.
We stayed in one of the double rooms up the stairs, it was great! the mattress was very comfortable, no mosquitoes, perfect!
The shared bathroom was funny, without roof but clean.
The kitchen facilities are very nice. The outdoor kitchen is perfect.
Morning breakfast is just great. You have plenty of food to feel full.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
It was my partner's first hostel experience and he was impressed. Really a great place.
I would absolutely recommend it.

The young men at the reception are very friendly and give you a lot of great information on where to eat sth good for little money and also know a lot about the region. What they don´t know so much (but perhaps this was just one of them) are the streets for driving with your own car and which route to take (we asked for directions to Santa Elena). As you enter the hostel you go through the main entrance, pass the kitchen and then you are standing in the middle of an oasis! Or at least: it feels like it. There are trees, also with fruits, and the bathrooms are outside as if you are living in the jungle (of course noone can look inside and it´s clean). In the rooms there´s not so much in them, but that´s ok if you don´t want to stay in there for anything else than to sleep. You do of course hear everything that´s going on in the garden from the rooms, so if somebody is loud (or a dog for example) you hear everything.

This is an amazing hostel. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you with anything you need, the location is great, and the owners have thought of everything that you might need whilst there. There is a great garden and communal area that is really social, but has hammocks towards the back if you want to chill out. There are 2 kitchens which are fully stocked, a TV room loaded with movies if you want a quiet night, and a bookshelf full of guide books that you can borrow to plan your trip / days out. They also have bikes to rent which you can take to all the near by cenotes (which are incredibly beautiful - you have to visit them during your stay). I arrived at the hostel on my own and instantly met various people that I spent a few days with. Really social hostel, but without it being a party / booze-hound scene!

An excellent place to stay - fantastic outdoors areas, although as others have said, mosquito repellant is a MUST if you want to hang out in the hammocks. The facilities hear are great, and it feels really secure as well, because the front door is locked at all times. Good book exchange too. Only negative is that I felt that the morning breakfast staff were a little indifferent and cold - but they might have just been having a bad day when we were there.

Also, we saw a possum in the garden, which freaked me out because I'd never seen one before (I'm from Europe).

This was without any doubts the best hostal we stayed during our 3 weeks backpacking in Mexico. The rooms are clean and luminous. There is a big garden with hammacs and a kitchen and the staff are soo nice. They give you great tips about the region and you can rent bikes. Breakfast was good. Everything was perfect and we felt like home. The individual rooms really worth it!

A fantastic hostel. Anything else will be not as good, or much more expensive. Bring mosquito spray for the outdoor areas though. Also, rent a bike and ride to San Lorenzo cenote - really quiet and beautiful when we went.

This is a great place. Just off the Square housing the La Candelaria church about 2 blocks from the main plaza in Valladolid.

We had 2 private rooms one upstairs with a double and a bunk bed (room 5) and one downstairs with a massive king-sized bed (room 3). Both rooms were spotlessly clean and had a ceiling fan and a floor fan. It was warmer than a room with A/C but certainly not as bad as has been described in other reviews and it was 38 degrees C and humid the day we arrived!

There was absolutely no issue with mosquitoes in either room even though its now rainy season and they were out in force in the garden area.

The outside kitchen/backyard area is great and would be a great place for socialising. Breakfast is included and consists of coffee, bread-rolls, jam, butter, US-style breakfast cereals (sugary) etc. Its not massive but is plenty for the price you pay for the rooms.

One of the best things about the hostel is the decoration - lots of La Catrina which all adds to the charm.

The staff are very helpful and all speak great English.

Room Tip: Room 3 downstairs has the king-sized bed and gets decent wifi from the house.
