“remote, but no treasure”
Reviewed March 14, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Casa Luis is located in a very silent area and romote, so without car you are lost. The rooms are spacious enough for a family with 2 kids. The big dining room table is very decorative and for sure the nicest inventory of the house. The kitchen is completed with the mostly needed acessoires to prepare meals. The 3 sleeping rooms give you enough space, although they are very little decorated, and therefore not cosy at all. The terrace is shaded and spacy, but there are no deckchairs. The small pool outside has no filtering at all, but that seems quite common in this area. The caretaker lives next to Casa Luis and keeps the pool clean. He takes also care, that there is enough water in the cisterne on the top of the house. The water flows down to the taps just by means of gravity. As the height is only 3 meters, the outcoming flow is very low. If you open the hot water, the water must flow through a heater located outside the house. Then the flow is nearly zero. That means, there is in fact no hot water available in the house. We had to shower with cold water, and for the dishwashing we had to heat it up on the gas cooker. As this is a structural problem, there was no way to fix that. Next problem is, that there are no glass windows, only meshs and wooden shutters, which do not really close. That means the climate inside the house is very humid (like outside). AC is only inside the sleeping rooms, but once you turn it off, the humid air comes in from outside very quickly. The result is, that everything inside feels clammy and salty, because the sea is only 100m away. The beach is unspoiled and there is a lot of seagrass, nobody was there. I can not remember such a quiet new years eve, you could not hear or see anything!
Booking was horrible, because the company relocated our original booking to Casa Luis, without our agreement! That was against the regulations, but when we complained the company told us, weather we take Casa Luis or a more expensive house, or we will loose our prepayment. So I would not recommend to book with this rude company! (Progreso Vacation Rentals)

Regards Thomas ! Thanks for visiting us! I wanted to inform the house web site has a Satellite View link, that provides you the exact location of the property on a map and pictures of the bedrooms and wooden shutters as they look today. We appreciate your clarification regarding the hot water; but we certainly know the hot water takes 3-5 minutes to heat once the shower faucet is open to describe it simple. It is not easy to say this, because we don’t want to be misinterpreted . When someone manages private homes, these are subject to be sold, change ownership by will or divorce decree; just to mention the most common ones… and in a very few cases a year, we are force to make upgrade transfers. We offer our apologies regarding the upgrade transfer was not satisfactory; Hope you can return and fulfill your wishes and we will not collect the booking fee next time. Best regards!
