“#1 Eating spot”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Justa is a wonderfully inventive chef. Check out her specials and be sure to enjoy Wednesday night tapas! Appetizer pita and garlic dip is fabulous! Albert, front of house, makes a mean margarita with only the best tequila, cointreau and fresh squeezed lime; no side effects the next day, either!

“Remote paradise”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

Off the beaten track and then some. On the bumpy beach road 6 km south of Mahahual, no sounds but the surf and birds and the car or golf cart coming by every hour or so. Great food nightly (Wednesday night is tapas night!) with an interesting mix of ex-pats. Everything is made from scratch by the owners, who also serve and make great drinks (mojitos and margaritas especially!) They are great hosts. We stayed in the simple guest house behind the restaurant, separated by a tropical garden and a few chickens that provide eggs. Beach is close but not groomed to help maintain the shoreline, coconut palms to sit under and contemplate the ocean. Highly recommended for more adventurous travellers who don't want the all-inclusive or cruise ship type trip.

“Back after a few years, and still as good we remembered it”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

We had two meals here recently and enjoyed it as much as before. The food is interesting, tasty and fresh. The owners are friendly and make it a point to be personable and inviting. Anything goes at the Travel In' - in our case a small child! The small pita pizza was just perfect.

We love coming here because the place feels like your own kitchen. It is a comfortable place for a tired/weary traveler, a sun-soaked beach bum who just wants a good meal and a cold beer, or a family who wants to sit together in shorts/t-shirts and just hang out.

“Romantic evening at Travel Inn”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

This place is amazing, it is so pretty and unique , a little bit outside of Mahahual you find paradise on earth. Justa and Albert the owner of Travel Inn are the best. There food is amazing and they are so lovely hosts. We could spend there every evening of our life.

“Respite!”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

We arrived after a rainstorm and later than most nights. We had just arrived in Mahahual and were staying close by. Although the restaurant was open - there was no one there! The hosts assured us they would be happy to serve us and quickly went to work in their kitchen and arrived with cold beer and a few minutes later some delicious food. Nice variety and different than all the restaurants on the Malecon. If you want a change - head here!
