Brilliant, best holiday ever. Everyone was so friendly, the concierge in Akam block Diego and Alex, the bar staff in Mezcal bar Carlos, Luis, Sonia, Cali, Sarhet especially Samuel and Amilcar. Leo and Ana were amazing. To be honest all the staff were great but too numourous to mention.
The hotel is lovely, clean spacious rooms, beach cleaned every morning, food great especially the Japanese and Steak House, they even had first aiders walking around the beach and pool areas.
As for the holiday apart from Xel Ha which was fantastic, we made our own way on the local buses as it was so easy getting around.

Room Tip: We found our room in Akam block on the 3rd floor to be well situated.

This was our second visit to the Grand Sirenis and have just returned from a week break. We first visited the hotel in 2007 just after the big hurricane and we had an amazing holiday. We decided to return to experience the hotel when it was busy as it was very quiet after the hurricane. Ok to the point, value for money excellent this hotel ticks all the boxes. There are plenty of areas to go in the hotel to have the holiday you want, whether that be quiet, romantic or full on. What makes the hotel are the staff they can not do enough for you. Some simple manors goes a long way they work so hard. The entertainment staff are amazing and made my holiday I got involved with all the daily activities Baiter (spelt wrong) is a credit to the hotel. The waiters and waitresses I can not praise enough and the chefs. The food was incredible every day and a fantastic choice. There have been a few changes since our last visit and to most they are trivial, but I don't think you should have to now pay for your safe in the room. There is also a charge for wifi with no free area to use.
They have also started doing the time share which is very impressive but I feel is creating a them and us culture as there special areas are on the opposite side of the pools, just not my cup of tea but not a problem for most.
Overall an amazing holiday sun beds plentiful, staff amazing, food excellent and superb value for money. Will we return to Mexico, yes every year without a doubt. Will we go back to this hotel, yes as we have tried a few but met so many friends here this time it really made our holiday.

We've been to a few different Riviera Maya resorts in the past 10 years. For the past four years, we went to Iberostar: three times to Tucan, and once to Paraiso Maya. Loved it! Service was superb, entertainment top-notch, food ecxellent. This year, friends suggested Grand Sirenis. They have membership there and promised us VIP treatment. First of, upon arrival we were given a cheap room, instead of the one we paid for, because the members-only rooms were all taken. They did apologize, and we chose not to make a fuss about it. But the room was freezing. I mean FREEZING. I called the concierge for some extra blankets, but they never arrived. The next morning, after I'd made a call to the VIP office, a maintenance guy showed up and "fixed" the AC by shutting it off entirely. We woke up in the middle of the next night gasping for air. Next day, called VIP office again. And again. And again. By 6 p.m. nobody showed up still, and it was literally impossible to stay inside that room. We went to the VIP office and demanded another room. By 10 p.m. they moved us... to a room with a broken glass partition between bathroom and bedroom, no blankets and no soap. After several calls to the office about soap, blankets and some extra towels to replace the ones we had to use to kind of separate the bathroom from the bedroom, we finally settled in for the night. The office, however, was "considerate" enough to call us just after midnight to confirm we'd received the complimentary bottle of champagne. The next day, our friend, enraged after seeing our new and "improved" residence, had us moved... Yet again... This time, to the members-only room we were supposed to have in the first place. Nice room, with bathroom and bedroom actually separated, working AC, and even a computer. Where we spent the remaining three days of our vacation.

Aside from that, the entertainment really sucks. As does the food. As opposed to the Iberostar chain, where there's always something going on and the staff is just electrifying, this place is beyond boring.

If you are unfortunately stuck there though, keep in mind that the spa is the only decent thing about this resort. If you want a massage, ask for Juana. She is absolutely fantastic. Well worth the money and time.

This was our second stay at the Grand Sirenis Riviera. My husband and I stayed for a week last year during the last week of November. This year we took the kids, ages 16, 11 and 10.

The resort is beautiful. It is a large resort with lots of amenities. The staff are very helpful and attentive. This was our 12th visit to Mexico and Grade Sirenis has the best snorkeling by far. Even though it is a large resort, there were always lots of lounge chairs both poolside and along the ocean.

Entertainment staff was amazing and very friendly. Each night was a different show which was entertaining for both adults and children.

The buffet had fabulous food and a large variety for everyone's preferences. The Japanese restaurant was amazing. We actually liked it so much we went twice!

The rooms were large and very clean. We didn't have any issues and loved our stay as much as we did the first time.

Thank you once again for an amazing holiday!

My husband and I went for our honeymoon to Grand Sirenis in July. The hotel is nice and the people who serve are very friendly. However the hotel is just sooooo crowded! and it is definitely not for honeymooners. There weren't a lot of activities to be done at the hotel and if you really want for your room to be cleaned never forget to give a tip when you leave from morning! One day we forgot and the room wasn't cleaned properly they didn't even change the sheets!

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Grand Sirenis and had a great holiday with my girlfriend.
The room was very spacious and comfortable with a large Jacuzzi bath to relax in and the staff were very friendly and always willing to help.
Great location too as it is around 35mins to Play del Carmen in one direction and Tulum in the other. You can catch a local bus for around £1.50 each. Iwould highly recommend Tulum for the beautiful beaches and the architectural sites including the ruins which is well worth the visit.
Being in such a good location gives you the flexibility of doing as much or as little as you like.
We booked the following tours: Swimming with Dolphins at Xel-Ha (which was amazing), Chichen Itza (well worth visiting) and a night out at Coco Bongos (amazing). I would recommend comparing prices with the onsite tour specialists as they are usually 10% cheaper than booking with your tour operators.
The food was a slight let down compared to the standards set elsewhere in the hotel. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and the section in the buffet labelled “Vegetarians corner” contained beef, chicken and pork filled food. The labelling of the food wasn’t very good for anyone with dietary needs. A little (v) sign for vegetarian food would have been great and more detailed labels for everything else would have been useful for everyone else too as I didn’t know what was in everything I was eating. A plain omelette contained cheese and ham for example. Also we went to 6 of the A La Carte restaurants during our stay with our favourites being the Mediterranean and Italian restaurants. The food is mostly the same as the buffet anyway but it’s nice to eat somewhere different now and then. I have to add that breakfast and lunch selection was very good too.
The drink selection was impressive however the quality of alcohol meant we didn’t finish many of the drinks we tried. It’s what can be expected on a large resort though, and wasn’t too bad.
The only small complaints we had about the room was the musty smell, temperamental air conditioning and the yellow water stains left in the Jacuzzi which made us have a shower straight after using it each time.
Overall we were impressed with the hotel and resort and would return, the staff are friendly, the locations excellent, the beach and pools are lovely and the weather was nice too!

Room Tip: Request a sea view room as they will be quieter and away from the pools.

We stayed at this hotel already 2 times with our kids (they are 3 and 5 now). We love every minute there. Plan to go there this year as well.
Food, entertainment, service are excellent. Can not complain at all.
There are some rocks on the beach but there are a very nice areas as well where we usually stays.
We definately recommend this resort.

Room Tip: We prefer building 18 the higher floor.
