“Delicious”

What a great find. This place has it all. Open seating plan in a garden gallery atmosphere. The pasta is made on sight and you can taste the freshness. We were very impressed and will definitely return.

“Nice little surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

This turned out to be a very pleasant surprise tucked away in our neighborhood. It has apparently just reopened this year and had quite a following before the hotel was sold. We were in the mood for Italian food and Que Onda did not disappoint with some excellent homemade pasta. We also got to sample some of the rotisseried pork and beef available on the "mexican" side of the restaurant, as well as some really simple by full-of-flavor guacamole. The Italian menu is small, but there are plenty of options available. The salads are very large - more than enough for 2 to share. All in all, a really beautiful place to spend our last evening in Akumal.

“Most romantic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

This Mexican take on Italian food, its open air, candlelight palapa in what used to be an artist colony is perfect. The pasta is homemade, the sauces with a touch of Mexican inspiration. It is close to the end of the main road, by Yal Ku lagoon, well worth the walk or short cab ride. We loved everything about it.

“Quite Italian”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

Having been here many years ago I looked forward to dinner here. Now it is only a few tables candle lit and quite ...before larger and busy with a nice bar area. Menu on a board with 4 dishes on it. Our meals were good but Desert ordered was chocolate mousse and it was frozen and placed on a plate very odd. There is something going on maybe its has been sold or redoing not sure but changes are in the works for sure..I asked but wasnt given a answer....only open for dinner on the located corner on the way to lagoon.

“Que Onda, still happening!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

We were so glad to see that Que Onda is still open since we had heard that the hotel was for sale. And Que Onda is still happening! Home to delicious pasta, friendly service and reasonable prices; enjoyed in a quiet courtyard beneath the stars and plumeria flowers.
