Fajitas were wonderful. The owners are friendly and the service great. The restaurant is not on the beach but in the town of Akumal so the atmosphere isn't as good as the ones on the beach-side but a great value.

Owners are great, but the food is just ok, and ok is a stretch. We had empenadas, soup, and shrimp cocktail. It was all lacking seasoning. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

When travelling in Akumal, the greatest attraction is the tropical beach where diving and snorkeling is very popular. But after being in or by the ocean for hours stepping into a little pub called Tequilaville was a wonderful place to unwind for me. It is a short stretch up the main road less than a mile from the beach, easy to find. The husband/wife that operated to place are Canadians that transplanted themselves to Akumal on the Mayan Riviera. They were very personable and seemed to be living a relaxed lifestyle that could have been their dream since their youth in the1960s. As the warm breeze flowed through the place, I enjoyed cold beers, corn chips with some excellent salsa, and a plate of fresh veggies and fruit. It was a very pleasant visit and not at all pricey. It may not be the swankiest place in town but for me the memory of my visit at Tequilaville was a definite thumbs up.

Nice owners. Being able to call the grandparents was a nice surprise. Good size portions. Not sure I'd visit more than once per trip.
