This is definitely the place to go if you are looking for a unique Yucatan experience. Casa Valentina is perfectly located to all the places you'll want to visit (Coba, Tulum, Akumal, Xel-Ha, Playa del Carmen), yet off the beaten path of tourists. Valentina and Gerardo, the proprietors, are very knowledgeable about the area and made many wonderful recommendations of places to visit during our stay. Their hospitality is unparalleled, and the casa is gorgeous! The surrounding area is also beautiful and tranquil. It was a perfect setting for our honeymoon, and we would, without hesitation, recommend Casa Valentina to anyone who wants a vacation they will remember and cherish all their lives.

First of all, the property itself was amazing. Down to the smallest details, the house was an absolute feat of design--somewhere between a zen garden and the Mayan palapa-style houses. If you get the chance, ask about Julio's machete skills and some of the ancient/mythic Mayan techniques he uses. The property even had a meandering garden jungle walkway throughout (though I never encountered the rumored giant iguana). As far as service goes, really enough can't be said for Gerardo and Valentina, who made us feel at home and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable at every turn. Two of the kindest and most interesting hosts you could ask for. Food was very good, and ambience of restaurant area is great. Make sure to take the short trip down to Akumal beach; it really is a beautiful beach.

I travelled around the world visiting a lot of different places, countries and when I arrived here I was really tired. Casa Valentina surprised me for its quietnes: it' s a very relaxing place. I stayed there for 10 days visiting archeologic sites (Coba, Chichen Itza, Tulum), going to the nicest beaches (akumal, xpu-ha, tulum, yalku bay and enjoying Casa Valentina gorgeous meals. My room was really nice, pretty big light ...and clean, very clean. Valentina and Gerardo are so lovely, they take care of you with a lot of suggestions and tips.

Wonderful location, between Tulum and Playa, nice the architecture of house and rooms. You must adapt yourself to the nature, it's full of insects but "mosquitos" can't enter in your room. The italian food is great, but you can also eat mexican food cookes by your guests. No problem with healthy, everything is cooked with pure water. Only two suggestions: decide your daily trips and then ask to owner how to reach the place, and if you prefer to take their "car valet service" inform yourself of the price in advance. It's very cheap and comfortable enough (you're in the middle of Carribean jungle...) but it's not for free! If you want to leave the city life and you don't like so much the all inclusive place you must tray this B&B!

We recently returned from 4 nights stay. Valentina and Gerardo have created a beautiful, comfortable guest house, surrounded by gardens, about 5 minutes from Akumal. The tropical gardens and surrounding jungle provide habitat for a large variety of birds & iguanas and all sorts of fauna - lots of fun to head out early in the morning or around sundown (especially with Gerardo & Valentina) to find the birds and enjoy their calls. Very peaceful and yet a feeling of adventure. Everything is spotless, and the the rooms are beautifully decorated. The breakfasts are really enjoyable - a good choice of menus - lots of fresh juices and fruit.. We had a very good dinner prepared by our hosts the last night. Case Valentina is an experience to relish.

Thanks to Tripadvisor, we found Casa Valentina. It more than lived up to all the great reviews we read. We stayed one week, and didn’t want to leave. Our room was absolutely beautiful. Valentina and Gerardo pay close attention to every detail to make our stay unforgettable. The room had all the amenities you could want including two patios, great bed and fantastic bathroom. Waking up in the morning and hearing all the sounds of jungle was inspiring. If you are interested in the environment they can tell you about some of the plants and trees found on their walking paths.

We feel we made some good friends in Valentina and
Gerardo. We really enjoyed sitting and talking with them. They helped us to plan our day, helping us find beautiful beaches that we never would have found, saving us tons of time by pointing us in the right directions.

There are many good restaurants in the area but if want to chill at the B+B they have an excellent menu and will cook you up some very good food with some decent wine for a great candlelight dinner in a striking jungle atmosphere.

All in all a great value especially if you want to get to know the real Mexico and get away from the all inclusive tourist traps. Great area all around.

Stayed at Casa Valentina for 2 nights. The decor was artisic and suited for the natural setting of the casa. There is a prevelance of tile and stucco and thatched roofs throughout Mexico. These are often used in a functional manner, at Casa Valentina they were employeed into an asthetic creation that makes one feel as if you are part of the habitat of the jungle. Initially I had a bit of concern about sleeping in the jungle, however after seeing the quality of the casa and it's cleanliness my fears were eliminated.
The blending of Valentina's Italian heritage and Gerado's Mexican heritage provides a vibrant welcoming and caring experience. We felt comfortable in their home and felt that their primary purpose while we were there was to make our visit a once in a life time experience.
The food was unmatched, In the past Geraldo had been a chef at a primary restaurant in Akumaul. His expertise made both breakfast and dinner a devine event. Valentina's presence was also evident here in the choice of colors and focus on detail in presentaion of the meals. The meals in and of themselves were reason to stay at this setting.
As the case maybe, the best things in life are hard to find. Casa Valentina is approximately 1 KM south on 307 from Akumal. Then it is on an unpaved road going west for approximately 2 KM. There is a small sign on 307 at the upaved road, but it is not easy to see,
Even though you feel you are part of the jungle there is internet access and satellite TV.
