You cannot go wrong here. The ice cream is rich, flavorful, fabulous. Try the salted caramel or the pralines. Sit in the sun or the shade at turtle bay for the full experience but watch your seat...the cushions might be wet.

As we were taking fish we'd caught on a panga-boat trip into Turtle Bay Cafe for their U Hook It-We Cook It option, we saw a sign saying Lucy's Kitchen was closed for remodeling (hopefully temporary) and TBC now serves her homemade ice cream. So for dessert we tried her fresh coconut and the salty caramel. While it was a decent hard vs a softserve type of ice cream, it's consistancy & flavor did not fall in the gelato category.

The best fish and shrimp tacos in town. Homemade ice cream daily. This is a regular lunch stop for us when we're in Akumal. I could eat here every day!

The best ice cream in Akumal. Good portions and low prices. Lucy's sits beside an outdoor "flea market" which is cool to stroll around while you eat your ice cream.

The signs are a bit confusing; when you look for Lucy's Kitchen it does not seem to be there, except for a chalk board near the Turtle Bay Cafe listing ice cream flavors. We asked, and about 1.5 years ago Turtle Bay and Lucy's merged. Great shrimp and fish tacos and yes, terrific salted caramel ice cream! A popular spot. Baked goods as many are in Mexico - on the dry side.
