We recently spent a week an Imanta, and it was pure perfection. We were one of only 4 couples at the resort that week so we found it to be extremely private and romantic - which is exactly what we were looking for. The setting was absolutely wonderful - waking up to the sounds of the waves on the rocks, beautiful 80 degree days and sunsets that looked like paintings.
What really sets the resort apart is the service and and people. The entire staff is genuinely happy to be there and to help. Everyone had a smile, and were always looking for ways to enhance our experience, without invading our privacy. We felt like royalty - which was a little hard to get used to, since we have 3 kids! But again, the staff knew just the right touches to put us at ease and allow us to enjoy our meals, our time in the casa and our afternoon siestas down at the beach.
Speaking of the food, we found it to be exceptionally fresh and flavorful. Portion sizes are great and everything on the table is of high quality. The catch of the day was always good and we had the best ceviche and margaritas of our lives down at the beach thanks to Benito!!!
If you are looking to escape reality, this is the place. We can't wait to go back and see our new friends again soon.
Hasta Pronto!

Room Tip: Each room is extremely private - hard to believe there are any bad choices

We spent just one night at Imanta after a stay at the Four Seasons. Imanta far surpassed our expectations. The service was impeccable and the food was fantastic. The bungalows with a soaking tub, private pool, and day bed are expansive and luxurious, yet still rustic and set in nature. The spa treatments, including massage, are reasonably priced and really good. The staff were all friendly and attentive. No detail was overlooked -- the minifridge was even stocked with complimentary cool drinks and frozen Snickers. The Four Seasons is great, but Imanta is in a class of its own.

We spent a week at Imanta at the end of March and it was the most beautiful resort I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. The photos do not even come close to doing the resort justice. The staff was amazing - attentive, always incredibly friendly and anticipated our every need.

They arranged for all our off-resort activities, although the resort was so peaceful and gorgeous, we barely wanted to leave. We had a very enjoyable couples massage on our deck as we listened to the waves crash against the shore. It was extremely relaxing.

The food was incredible and I'm still craving their morning pastries and eggs Benedict. We ate every dinner at the resort and the quality, quantity and value was impressive. The only constructive criticism would be to increase their wine selection - it was good but perhaps could be improved slightly upon.

The resort is right on the beach in a very secluded and private location. I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and peaceful nature surrounding us. The rooms were right out of a magazine and the outdoor shower and private pool and deck were spectacular.

Thank you to everyone at Imanta who made our stay there one we will never forget.

We just returned from a fantastic trip to Imanta. We cannot wait to return. Our every expectation was exceeded. The resort in a secluded area outside of PV which backs up to a nature preserve. We felt like we had the resort and beach to ourselves. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They arranged for a fantastic snorkeling and whale watching guide. The whales were truly majestic to watch.
Every detail is thought of in this resort. At the beach, there were boogie boards, kayaks and paddleboards available to use. The loungers had a blanket on them daily and we were brought bottled water. Lunch on the beach under the palapa was delicious! Eva cooked our breakfast every morning and even showed us on the last day how to make our favorite egg dish. Benito remembered what we liked to eat and made sure that this was available daily. The chef did a great job using local ingredients and food. The rooms were spectacular. The beds were very comfortable. With the cooler temperatures, we were able to sleep with the windows open to screens and hear the roaring of the waves. (A/C is available if needed). Fresh fruit was brought daily to our rooms and the refrigerator was kept stocked with candy and beverages which the kids enjoyed. The bathroom in the suite was spectacular. The tub was created out of a boulder. Bath salts and candles included! The pool outside our door was kept warm and there was a lounging bed on the porch as well.
Our kids joined us on this trip. They, too, did not want to leave and cannot wait to return. This is a fantastic place to visit if you are seeking a peaceful, relaxing vacation. The sunsets were amazing. I cannot say enough about this wonderful place!

Room Tip: All rooms here are perfect.

We visited the Imanta for three nights with our two teenaged daughters, having spent the preceding four nights at the Hacienda San Angel in Puerto Vallarta. Our Imanta Experience was perfect---so restful that we did not resent the long return travel time back to New York through Houston. The staff at the Imanta are absolutely lovely, and we recommend taking both the mountain and the ocean hikes with Caesar. After our daily 1 1/2 hour hikes, we thoroughly enjoyed beach time lounging on the king-sized four poster beds right on the beach, and rousing ourselves only to eat and wade into the water. The beach menu and drinks were delicious. We especially recommend the cucumber margaritas, guacamole and the shrimp of fish tacos. Our visit was in late March, and the ocean water temperature was very comfortable. We also especially appreciate the fact that the Imanta does not "groom" the trees and flowers so that you feel close to nature. The different species of water birds, and especially the pelicans put on a show for us every day. We chose not to leave the resort for meals during our stay, and liked to have a drink at the rooftop bar right after sunset each night. The dinner menu offered lots of choices, and we would recommend the surprising-in-a-good-way gazpacho and the Mexican red wines, which have a hit of salt on the palate.

I have read the other reviews and would agree that the resort is expensive. I felt that the value was in the attention of the staff, the unsullied views and sense of repose. It works perfectly as a honeymoon destination or reunion with loved ones, where you are splurging to enjoy natural beauty with people you truly care about.

Room Tip: If you are up for the splurge chose a ocean front room with its own pool.
