“Not worth it. "Has been" property”

Excentric, zen design is beautiful - but it has not aged well. If you want zen luxury, go to Banyan Tree in Riviera Maya or Cabo Marques. This is an overpriced mistake: dirty obsolete rooms, poor upkeep overall, cold in-room waddle pools, juraissic TVs, no remote, dirty menus in restaurant, stagnant water in landscape pools, no locks on glass balcony doors, abandoned balcony planters with cig butts, hard beds, etc. The Spa is nice. Food is very good. The lake views are impressive. The staff is sympathetic and nice. They do their best but it appears that owners are not investing sufficiently in the property. Valle de Bravo needs a luxury resort (and people need good tourism jobs) but this is not acceptable. Save your pennies until they fully remodel it or stay somewhere else and visit the Spa.

Beautiful location, perfect weather incredible views....sounds like the perfect place. When you pay close to 600 USD a night you expect to be in a place with a second to none service, cleanliness, maintenance.
We choose a master suit because we stayed with our daughter and wanted the space to be more relaxed. The room was dirty! (Cigarette buts, dirt, finger prints and hand marks in windows...etc
The windows do not close! I don't mind the noise but just for basic safety.
We we came at night the indoor pool was cold, we call and the excuse was that they shut don the solar power panels....what????? No "b" plan?
The suit has a terrace for your relaxation...with no furniture???? Not even a chair to sit???
It a shame that a beautiful site like this has been forgotten ....instead sanctuary it should be called purgatory.
If you want to relax please...please don't make the mistake to book a night here

This hotel is very expensive. The advertising and the webpage promise a lot but the property leaves much to be desired.

There is no elevator on the property -by design- so a lot of walking is required. If you forget something in your room is very uncomfortable. When you arrive you notice that in the past they used golf carts for guests - now with flat tires and rusting just in front of the property-.

Rooms have a mini pool. This is a nice idea but as a consequence there is humidity on the rooms and mold on the blinds. Mold on on a $500.00 hotel!

Rooms have bamboo all over as part of the decoration and this incudes tiny bugs that bothered my children at night.

Outdoor pool has no heating. It is not extremely cold but for the prices they charge does not make sense.

I only had breakfast once in the restaurant. Everything on the menu is expensive.

On the good side, staff is nice and the view is nice.

Room Tip: A good room would be one for half of the prices they charge!

We intended to stay 5 nights and left after the first night. The hotel has no elevator, so unless you're fit to climb up and down to your room, enjoy noisy rooms with no privacy (flimsy windows that don't seal and let in outside traffic noise, we could clearly hear our room neighbors at 2:30 am watching tv and talking, as well as their baby crying at 5:00 am), humidity inside your room (indoor heated pool that you can't control temperature), a plethora of tiny bugs only visible at night, a smelly W.C., and extemely limited room service, then this place is for you. Definitely not worth the price or the luxury classification. I would say the only enjoyable part of this stay was our breakfast in the restaurant... the service was very good and the lake view very beautiful.

If you're looking for total luxury in a holistic setting, this is the ideal location. A two hour drive from Mexico City brings you to the beautiful Valle de Bravo and El Santuario. There are sixty four rooms and suites available, each with a private swimming pool in the room, and crafted from the most luxurious natural materials. A full-service spa awaits all guests who wish to avail themselves of the highest quality in beneficial treatments.
Even the Dali Lama has been to this wonderful place which sits on a bed of quartz; he gave El Santuario his special blessing!
