“Relaxing getaway”

Las Luciernagas is a beautiful, relaxing place to stay just outside the main part of Valle de Bravo. It was a bit tricky to find, but once we made it there, Juan Carlos made us feel right at home. All weekend, he made sure that we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. The decor at Las Luciernagas is beautiful but homey at the same time, and the upstairs rooms have lovely views. My travel companion and I ate dinner and breakfast at Las Luciernagas (we upgraded to the full breakfast), and both meals were very tasty. In the evening, we enjoyed a bottle of wine in the outdoor hot tub while watching the stars come out - we even saw shooting stars! It doesn't get much better than that. Well, perhaps if we'd come a few months later when the fireflies ("luciernagas," in case you were wondering what the name meant) come out. All in all, it's a great place relax and from which to explore Valle de Bravo.

Room Tip: Upper rooms have lovely views

The hotel is very beautiful and everything in the room are so delicate and pretty. The service is nice and very attentive. And the owner of the Hotel is so friendly and you can get great advices about the travel, restaurantes, nice places to go in that area from him. I will go back there to escape crowded Mexico City.

Speaking about Valle de Bravo everything is cool, ok but this place really depicts the meaning of that: Quiet, nice, relaxing, well attended, close to the nature, mainly for couples the weather can be cold or warm depending on the season you go, but they have hearth, the breakfast (very good btw) it's included in the bill.. and also you can enjoy all the activities near the place in Valle or in Avandaro....Try to book with time 'cause there are just several rooms, and forget the address showed, and take in account its a little hide place so just put "Las Luciernagas, Valle de Bravo" in Waze or use this link to let google drive you.

We stayed at the Las Luciernagas for two nights and wished we had the time to stay a lot longer. The grounds, views and the hotel itself are stunningly beautiful and the staff could not do enough to help us. We ate one night in the restaurant where the owner Juan Carlos cooked for us. The food was amazing and I would highly recommend staying there for dinner- everyday is different and the food is fresh and home made. The hotel itself is spotless and the attention to detail in the decoration is superb. I would highly recommend spending time at Las Luciernagas- we are hoping to go back in the next few weeks again!

Fantastic place. We spent our 2 evenings there just sitting by the fire, chatting. Didn't see much of our hosts but I prefer it that way. Juan very kindly booked us some horseriding. The place is beautiful and very clean. It's a short taxi to the centre and we found the breakfast to be a bit lacking and that is why I gave it a rating of 4 but it really is an amazing place to stay. The dogs are great too.

Room Tip: If you are going during the cooler periods, get a room with a fireplace.

Las Luciernagas – a little piece of Heaven on Earth! An incredibly lovely place in a beautiful, tranquil setting. It’s well kept up, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and well-appointed. In the La Cima suite every need has been anticipated: dishes/microwave/mini-fridge/coffee maker in the room, a DVD player and flat-screen TV and a variety of DVDs to choose from, free Wi-Fi, hand-made soaps, access to massage services, and a fireplace with wood supplied. The view from the room’s patio was fantastic, plus there are multiple other patios and seating areas around the grounds so that you can either be social with others, or have solitude, whichever you prefer. We were there in January, which can make these places in the mountains extra cold, but not here – it was dry and warm in our room and we were totally comfortable. We were on the top floor and still had fantastic water pressure with plenty of hot water. Juan Carlos speaks excellent English and was an incredibly gracious host. Beer and wine with snacks upon our arrival so we could relax on the patio and soak up the view. We were so entranced with the place that we didn’t leave for dinner, but chose from their excellent menu and had a lovely meal in front of the fireplace. Breakfast was fresh fruits, fresh squeezed orange juice, yogurt, muesli, and fresh croissants. You could get more breakfast than that for an extra fee, but that was plenty for us! Be sure you print their directions off their website, because the place is a bit hard to find, but totally worth the effort! Honestly, this place is so wonderful you could make it a destination on its own.

Room Tip: La Cima is worth the extra money.

Location is nice, 5 mins from Valle, in a quiet area where you get via a small steep dirt/rocky road. The hotel itself is a big house turned into a hotel with 4/5 (?) rooms. Parking on the premises is a bit difficult when all rooms are booked. There is barely space for 5 cars let alone getting out again. The rooms was nice but nothing really special. Mine was also a bit noisy from the guests above me so I slept with earplugs. Gardens are nice, great views of the valley below. When I was there was no restaurant service for dinner/lunch/ Breakfast was good though. All'n all it was ok but not wortth the hefty price
