Villas Arqueologicas Teotihuacan
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 5, 2014

The Villas Arqueoloicas has been our home on many journeys to visit the pyramids of Teotihuacan and visit friends. Colorful and cozy, there are many things that make each stay enjoyable. The pool is refreshingly beautiful and well maintained with patio dining. The restaurant food is tasty with a good variety of mexican dishes; service is attentive. The coffee could be stronger. I recommend the green juice for breakfast.

There are meeting rooms to accommodate those in need. The bar can be a good meeting place for friends, but is not a hang-out to meet other people.

The rooms have a full size and single size bed. Plenty of hot water. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The biggest drawback is the intermittent internet service. Some rooms on the far side have little to no service while the rooms near the front are typically connected.
What I really like about the location is that you may literally walk across the street and stand in awe of the ancient city of Teotihucan and gaze down the Avenue of the Dead (without entering the site. A great way to start the day. Also within walking distance is the village of San Sebastian which will provide foreign visitors a safe and entertaining stroll through a quaint Mexican village; don't expect souvenir shops however.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with good internet connectivity.

Conveniently situated hotel for the Archeological Site. A rather soulless
place with small basic bedrooms which were cold and rather damp.
Restaurant OK but no atmosphere.
The worst Margaritas in Mexico at the bar!

Suprisingly nice hotel, comfortable nicely designed rooms, all close to the pyramids. The rooms are arranged in a courtyard fashion around the pool and outside dining area. Our room was really comfortable and very clean. The hotel staff including the onsite restaurant staff were outstanding, very helpful and friendly. They quickly arranged private taxi service to the airport for us the next morning. Our meal that evening was delicious and we all slept well, thankful for the quiet surroundings. This is a definite place we want to visit again..

You can't beat the location of the hotel; quiet, close to the pyramids, easily accessible and with an inspiring view of the pyramids. The rooms are basic but very comfortable with good beds (bring your own pillow). It is a bit noisy in the morning when people are checking out but otherwise it is a very quiet and comfortable hotel. The staff are very nice and helpful and the restaurant food is very solid. The bar is cosy with a wood fireplace - great fun! For the kids, there is the pool and a ping pong table. This is the second time I have stayed here and I will be returning..

Room Tip: Second floor as the amount of roller suitcases going by your door will be reduced.

You can see the pyramids from the hotel entrance.
Nice charming hotel, my room was very clean and comfortable.
The beer was cold and the fried fish dinner awesome.
Just a short walk to the main entrance of Teotihuacan.

This pleasant hotel is only a stone's throw from the pyramids of Teotihuacan. It is much more attractive inside than from the outside. The pool is nice, as is the outside dining area. The staff was uniformly accommodating. Breakfast was the star here, in terms of cuisine. Enjoyed a fabulous massage in the hotel spa. Next time, I would book a hot air balloon ride over the pyramids, but we ran out of time!

The hotel is located on the cobble stone road that rings the site of Teotihuacan. It is a safe, ten minute walk from the hotel to Gate 1 of the ruins. The beauty of staying at the Villas is that you can be at the site long before the tour buses arrive from Mexico City and can enjoy the site without the crowds. You can also return to the site in the late afternoon after the tour buses have departed. Our four day stay was peaceful and pleasant. We had excellent meals in the gazebo beside the swimming pool. The hotel and restaurant staff were exceptional. Clean and comfortable rooms. We also stayed at the Villas hotel in Cholula, and the staff arranged direct van transportation to that location for us so we did not need to return to Mexico City.
