I just went yesterday with my family. The service was ok,but the food was dissapointing. I had gone so many times before and the food was so much better. I guess they changed chef. Definitely, I don't recommend this place to anyone.

I recently spent a month in Patzcuaro, and tried many restaurants and food stalls. For a sit down, good service meal, El Patio was one of the two restaurants I returned to. The corundas were perfectly light and delicious. The chicken broth with vegetables was a perfect light supper, and the salads were terrific. Main dishes are served with a choice of two sides, one of which is the green salad...a mixture of greens, broccoli, green beans, and chayote. The local musicians who travel from restaurant to restaurant and play for tips have beautiful voices and sing in both purepecha and Spanish.

This colorful & folkloric restaurant located on the Plaza Grande is really special. The service is excellent & the food is delicious. Otten there are local musicans entertaining the diners. It is usually crowded with both locals & tourists. The ambiance is wonderful!

The chicharrones en salsa roja were yummy. The BEST thing that we ate was the antojito, guacamole con chicharrones! Addicting! We will also be serving those at our next cooking class. Only negative is the service, which is slow and sloppy.

Great location right off the Vasco de Quiroga Plaza (main plaza) allows this place to take costumers for granted by serving them flavorless and unimaginative food under classic names such as Tarascan soup. Plus, it is overpriced.

If you want good food in Patzcuaro I would recommend to completely avoid the main plaza and stick to the food carts and markets. They have much more flavor, authentic dishes and variety at half the price.
