“A fantastic day trip from Morelia”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

While this attraction focuses on one particular square in Patzcuaro, there are in fact many things to see and do in the town. There are several attractive squares full of life where every few seconds an old lady will approach you offering to sell you who knows what woven out of straw. More than anything, I think Patzcuaro is a place to people watch and you can truly see people who appear to belong to another age; old ladies in bare feet with no teeth, old men shining shoes as they have probably done for the last forty years, and don't miss the masked dance of the viejos (old men) which is offered in the square. I happened to show up at the exact time it was about to start. What a result! Patzcuaro is certainly a place where you can get a sense of the traditional Mexico and is well worth the trip.

“this is the real mexico!”
Reviewed August 5, 2012 via mobile

you could spend a lot of time in this gorgeous plaza: people watching, having a coffee or an icecream, browsing in the many stores, or watching "la danza de los viejitos". Very clean, and very authentic. It is fantastic to stay in one of the hotels sorrounding the plaza, especially in december by the time of "posadas", which are celebrated in a very traditional way in this town.

“Shops, cafés, dancers, grass!”
Reviewed June 6, 2012

It was clean, well taken care of (the grass was green and mowed!), and the shops, cafés, and ice cream and crêpe vendors gave the viejitos and indigenous dancers a colorful background.
