“Cas and Allyson”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

What's not to like about Casa Flores?!! Located just a couple of blocks and an easy walk to the serene town plaza and the lakefront malecon, our stay at Casa Flores was so positive that it lead to my husband and I moving permanently to Ajijic! From the delicious breakfasts featuring a wide selection of Mexican and American dishes served by smiling staff, to the comfortable beds and unique decor of each room and the relaxing, refreshing pool and gardens, everything about this B+B makes you want to stay. The best part, however, is the wonderful ambiance created by the host and owners, Steve and Fernando. They are never to busy to check in with you, offer advice, recommendations, directions, you name it...it seems there is no question they cannot answer. They love what they do and that shines through in their day to day interactions. Walking through the door whether after an early morning walk or an evening in one of the local restaurants, we feel we have "come home".

We came to Mexico for a graduation in Guadalajara and booked a hotel for 4 nites. After getting lost on way to hotel from airport and again that evening, we decided to get out of the city and go to a quaint town called Ajijic on beautiful Lake Chapala. To our surprise, we happened upon a wonderful B&B called Casa Flores or Casa de las Flores. The hosts, Steve and Fernando, were very wonderful guys (not to mention handsome!). We were given a tour of the place and choice of the house for our room. We also met their maid, Yolanda, and felt totally welcome in this low keyed atmosphere. The pool was inviting and we thoroughly enjoyed the accomodations with small refrig. and microwave. Also...DON'T MISS THE BREAKFASTS! Yolanda on two days and Fernando on the third served up wonderful Eggs Chilaquiles and Eggs Ranchero with Fernando's special family sauce! This place is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Room Tip: Every room is good as you are left with your privacy and encouraged to make yourself at home and enj...

All the best things about Ajijic and the casa : excellent weather, the scent of flowers everywhere, hospitable, helpful, entertaining hosts, wonderful breakfasts, magnificent scenery. Not only are Fernando and Steve great, they are most helpful and also give back to the community in the many philanthropic things they do to help those in need. . . and they don't brag about it ! We have spent many wonderful holidays there. We recommend it with absolutely no hesitation.

Just check in to Casa Flores and felt compelled to write a. Review post haste!
As soon as I met Steve and Fernando, I knew I was going to have a great stay. They are awesome! Very attentive and possess qualities not easily found these days. As a matter of fact, origionally was going to stay only one night to check out Lake Chapala but immediately booked 3 nights instead. And may stay longer!
The room? After graciously being shown several choices, all of which were wonderful, I settled on Selva Romantica. Beyond my expectations and worth every penny! (I love jacuzzis!)
Its only been an hour and I feel totally relaxed already.
Off to check out the local cuisine and sights, looking forward to returning to Casa Flores a home away from home!

there is absolutely no place like this thet we have ever encounter, the attention to detail and the thoughfulness of the owners and staff make this place very special. we have decided to buy a place in ajijic and mostly is due to the attention and friendliness of all the staff at the hotel and also of the town itself. we have traveled exensively throughout the world but ajijic stole our hearts. the reviews of trip advisor are true for this place

Room Tip: we loved mi amor with a private garden

This was our second stay at this B&B and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Lake Chapala region. Steve and Fernando are the best part of the experience. They were attentive to our needs; transport, food and even local introductions! It's close to the town square and local shopping. The room we stayed in had a fireplace, large flat screen TV and a lovely bathroom and there was a swimming pool just outside our door. We became friendly with the other guests and Fernando's aunt, Tia Sylvia, was warm and a great conversationalist! We have taken the bus from Ajijic to the city of Chapala (4 pesos or 30 cents) and into the great city of Guadalajara (8 pesos or 60 cents) for shopping and sight seeing. Breakfast was as elaborate as you want or--as we preferred--as simple as you like. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation in a great place with great people!

Steve and Fernando have found the perfect combination in their boutique bed & breakfast. Every time we have stayed there, it is as if we are the only guests. The attention by their staff is phenomenal! The rooms are not only comfortable, but have enough whimsy to make you feel you been transported to other far off places. It is always a delight to sit in the sun dappled courtyard by the pool to relax. The breakfasts we've had, have always been delicious and served politely and promptly. If you plan on spending one night or 10, Casa de las Flores should definitely be on your "must" list for accommodations! Thanks Steve & Fernando!
