I have found after many visits to Salvador's that the food, prices and service are ALWAYS good. Most of my time in Mexico is spent in Ajijic but I recently went on an excursion to Mexico City and ate in quite a few high line restaurants there... the food was far more expensive and not near as acceptable as at "plain little" Salvador's.
The food seems as acceptable to Jorge's Mexican clients as to his "gringo" clients and you regularly see the same people there.
Good breakfasts are less than $50 Pesos, Lunches are less than $80 Pesos... try one of his many soups and a sandwich for just $55 Pesos at lunch.
As a bonus... on Wednesdays the market in on the street flanking the restaurant... the market is great and a snack or cold drink at Salvador's after is a delight. There is also a nice outdoor area in front of the restaurant that is shady and comfortable.
