“Lunch menu”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

We have been in Ajijic for six weeks and eaten at most of the main restaurants. The best deal and food so far has to be Roberto's on the Carretera . We always go at lunchtime because the prices are right. Dinner menu is more costly for basically the same meal. Average price of a lunch is seventy five pesos, about five dollars at the current exchange rate. It comes with complimentary carrot croquettes with a delicious sauce for dipping. It also comes with soup or salad. I suggest the onion soup, yummy! The garden setting is divine and the waiters all pleasant and smiling.

“Charming restaurant, impeccably maintained, with wonderful choices”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

We have, as residents in the area, eaten many times at Roberto's and have consistently found it to be one of the best lakeside.
Roberto himself is a charming host with a positively wicked sense of humor, and the staff are great fun. They always remember you and make a point to come over to say hello.
The menus is always changing, with specials of the day, and some hard to find items such a beef brisket, which if you really like brisket, is phenomenal.
There are usually a few Chinese or Thai dishes, as well as a great selection of gringo favorites so your choices are really extensive.
Our latest visit was a birthday, mine, and Roberto brought over a sinfully delicious peanut butter pie, which we all shared. A great day, other than getting a year older and always lots of fun.
During off season, there are one or two, two for one dinner evenings every week, a stupendous deal.

“A Great Surprise and Find!”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

While we have been traveling to Ajijic and the Lake Chapala area for over ten years, this restaurant had never appeared on our radar. A local friend had spoken highly of this restaurant and we decided to give it a try on a Friday night in August. We were immediately impressed with the ambiance and feel of this establishment. Service was immediate and attentive throughout the meal. We had a problem actually choosing from the menu since there were so many entrees that sounded great. We enjoyed a very relaxing and enjoyable meal that came as a surprise because they were running a two for one special that night. Our waiter certainly benefited from such since we rewarded him based upon what the meals would have cost without the special but he earned it!

Roberto's will be a definite dinner stop on all future visits to the area!

I found the food only mediocre here and pricey at that. Service fair. Not a repeat visit place for us

“Sunday Nite Chinese”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

Not one dish was worth eating, my husband and I were terribly disappointed. The spring roll was tasteless. The soup tasted like msg, too much corn starch. Muchu Pork was nothing like I've ever tasted, lots of soy sauce, but overall not good. The rice was cold and awful.
