The Casa Tres Leones exceeded our expectations. When we walked through the gates, it is as if you have entered another world. The path from the gate to the front door wanders through a beautiful garden where everything appears to be in bloom. Bougainvillea in pink and mauve drapes the walls. Yellow hibiscus like flowers are everywhere and the birds of paradise are at their peak. The path leads past the fountain with three lions from which the name of the house is derived and past a portion of the wall with an arch on top in which hangs a bell. At the base of the wall is a beautiful statue of the virgin. It almost looks like a chapel but I know it is the side wall of the garage.
My favourite spot was on the terasse behind the house, overlooking the pool, garden rooftops of the town and the lake. We stayed in the Mirador Suite which we loved but next time, it will be a tough choice between that suite and the Lovers' Suite. Alix and Emile are wonderful hosts, extremely attentive and very knowledgable about the area. Alix's breakfast are worth the stay alone. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and a healthy hot breakfast.
We loved our stay and wisshed it had been longer.

The hacienda is beautiful. Mexico at it's finest. It's the perfect place to greet one perfect day after the next. The hosts are incredibly helpful and try to do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The neighborhood is wonderful. It's a great walk to the malecon! It's the best Ajijic has to offer.

Room Tip: The honeymoon suite is amazing.

What a lovely Mexican hacienda, in the ancient village of Ajicjic.k We had a wonderful time and experienced the very essence of Mexico! The B and B has great views over the village, lake and the mountains. The rooms are large and immaculate and we had a very comfortable bed. Breakfasts were a real treat. The hosts are warm and helpful. We will definitely return to this lovely place. We could have spent much longer.

This is the most exquisite Mexican hacienda, situated in a cobble stoned ancient village on Lake Chapala. Church bells ring, families stroll, and horses trot by, ridden by men wearing big hats. The very essence of Mexico! The home has glorious views of the mountains and lake, and is filled with eye catching artworks and sumptuous furnishings. The rooms are large, stylish, and spotlessly clean, and we had the biggest most comfortable bed ever. We are Australian, as are and Alix and Emile, and they even provided Vegemite as well a delicious hot breakfast each day. (Nice touch!) They were generous and informative hosts, having lived here for ten years, with advice re trips, sightseeing and local culture. We will definitely return to this slice of paradise to sit on the wide cool verandas, float in the turquoise tiled pool and relax with people who really know what they are doing. We could not have wished for - or imagined - more from this gorgeous place. We stayed for three weeks and felt entirely safe during our stay, walking the streets and only encountered smiling, helpful people wherever we went. Thank you Emile and Alix! Hasta la Vista!

Ten of us stayed for a week of relaxation in May and all our expectations were exceeded. This B&B is wonderfully designed throughout with many interesting features and decor. There are many quiet places to relax. The veranda overlooking the pool is great for breakfast and the views of Ajijic and Lake Chapalla very special. We had a different hot breakfast each morning with fresh hot muffins available at all times and deserts each evening. The pool was clean and refreshing. The rooms immaculate. Alix and Emile were excellent hosts and extremely helpful in recommending places to eat, making dinner reservations, arranging taxis, arranging a day trip to Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque, and doing all the little things to make us comfortable. We highly recommend Casa Tres Leones for a special place to stay. We certainly will return the next time in Ajijic. Al & Jan

After experiencing B&B's with cramped, high walled courtyards and no views during previous vacations in Ajijic, our recent eighteen night stay at Casa Tres Leones added a whole new dimension to our enjoyment of the village.

Situated just above the Carretera, Casa Tres Leones makes the most of it's elevation and space with panoramic views of the lake and mountains, a large inviting pool, wonderful terraced gardens, plenty of space to sit or lounge in sun or shade and lots of peace and quiet punctuated by roosters crowing or the whir of hummingbirds as they dip in the pool or flit between trees.

Hats off to Alix & Emile along with their friendly staff for making every aspect of our stay enjoyable.

We highly recommend Casa Tres Leones

Alix and Emille have created a beautiful spot just up the hill walking distance from the art scene in Ajijic. This small inn has the most beautiful gardens surrounding a pool and breakfast deck. We had three rooms in a two-story section of the inn that had a rooftop patio, a side sitting porch, beautiful bathrooms and comfortable art-filled accommodations. I definitely recommend this inn for your stay in Ajijic.
