This site has a very interesting history. The hostess has done a wonderful job of renovation, keeping the unusual architecture and enhancing it with wonderfully varied decorative touches in each room. Our bedroom had a charming mix of old and new -
classic Mexican tiles and modern flat screen TV, the most comfortable bed I slept in
while in Mexico, and a great view from our private balcony. The garden has a lovely variety of flowers and plants, and as birdwatchers we loved being able to see them right from our balcony. Breakfast was delicious and nutritious. The central location made it very easy to walk around town to explore the shops and local sights, including Lake Chapala.

We love Mexico and try to spend as much time there as possible and still work. We have visited Ajijic several times and really love the village with it's shops and restaurants. We have stayed at various other B&B over the years and like to try a new one that looks good. So we tried the Quinta del Sol, mostly based on recommendations on Trip Advisor. We were pleased with our selection. the Quinta del Sol in right in the village, near the main street Colon. Convenient to everything. You can walk to many restaurants or take a bus to Chapala or even Guadalajara. The Quinta del Sol itself is very nice, definitely MExican character and charm. The main rooms and also the room we occupied had old stone walls and beautiful old wooden doors and windows. We has a fireplace, but it was quite warm when we were there so it wasn't needed. Our room had a terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens and it was quite private. Breakfast was served on a sunny terrace outside the dining room. I'm not a big breakfast eater but a large selection of cooked foods were offered. We settled on the continental with fruit, muffins juice and coffee. One qafternoon, ELeanor brought hot home baked cookies out to the pool. Now there is a treat my husband doesn't pass up! All in all we enjoyed our few days in the sun and would return to Quinta del Sol.

My wife and I stayed at Quinta Del Sol and had an excellent best B&B experience. The location is ideal only a block from the Ajijic town center and a block from the newly restored promenade along beautiful Lake Chapala. Eleanor, the owner, is a most gracious host and is very knowledgeable about the village. She is also a first class cook offering a fine selection for breakfast each day. We dined for breakfast outdoors on the terrace and enjoyed one perfect day after another as Ajijic features one of the best climates in the world. The accomodations were spotless (we stayed in the Casita) and service was first-rate. Quinta Del Sol offers three large romantic ensuite rooms each with gas fireplaces (WiFi, TV, Fridge, etc.) and separate beatifully appointed common guest areas. The garden area offers a romantic setting and is built around a heated pool. A perfect choice for anyone looking for a great experience with Mexican flavor or couples desiring a romantic getaway.

Beautiful, well appointed B & B in the charming village of Ajijic. On a quiet
street in the village. All restaurants, boutiques, and spas are just around the corner.
Eleanor the Owner serves a great breakfast with a variety of selections. She is a special person. We stayed in the La Casita sutie and our older children were in the La Paloma suite. Both of these rooms are huge and comfortable. Your privacy is guaranteed.

My friend and I stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast for a week in January. Not only were the rooms beautiful and fully equipped with a television, king bed and full bathroom, but the breakfast provided by the hostess was to die for. We stayed in "The Casita" at the back of the property which was very private and only steps away from the guest common room equipped with a flat screen t.v. and high-speed internet. This little town has lots to offer including shopping, great restaurants, and a nightlife. I would definitely visit this bed and breakfast again.

Beautiful old completely renovated home on a perfect street in the middle of a small Mexican village, with lovely garden and heated pool. The room was spacious, beds excellent, with TV and we had computer with wifi access in the guests' sitting room downstairs. Despite its size, Ajijic has great restaurants recommended by our host, who also gave "on the spot" info about buses to local towns on Lake Chapala as well as Guadalajara. We felt as though we were in our own perfectly renovated colonial home; it could not be better.

My wife an I decided to spend Thanksgiving at this quaint B&B. What a great long weekend getaway! It was only a block or two from the lake, the shops and the town square. Perfect location. Rooms were large, gorgeous and very unique. Our host recommended several great restaurants. All within a block or two. I look forward to returning soon.
