“One of the very best in Ajijic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2014

I can't say enough about this little jewel of a restaurant. Herb the owner is one of the finest nicest and most interesting men you will ever meet. Terrific Tapas menu, fun place frequented by a lot of airline people as Herb is a retired Western and Delta airlines captain. Herb does all the cooking with the assistance of only one helper who is the brother of the beautiful bartender and waitress
Valentina. Excellent staff. Visited three times in the week I was here. Not a large place just a small
Spot on the corner with great ambiance and friendly service.

“Excellent food, drink and conversation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

Located on the corner of 16 de Septiembre and Donato Guerro, Ajijic, Mexico. This small and intimate restaurant/bar is a jewel. The menu is always changing, with new and exciting dishes. Captain Herb Hazen is a retired Western/Delta Airlines pilot, who has retired and lives in Ajijic, constanly travels to many countries to acquire many different delectable dishes....he has become quite an accomplished chef. Both he and his staff offer great service with stimulating conversation. You can always find an English speaking expat, writers, entertainers and just great people. I can't wait until I return to this wonderful place.

“Good food, good music ¿Que mas quieres?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

Third time here, and we were not disappointed. Asparagus omelet, stuffed portobello mushrooms, sweet potato chips - all lightly spiced and very tasty. Sweet omelet totally delicious. Live music is gentle and pleasant and conducive to conversation with the neighboring table. The owner is a retired airline pilot who has turned cooking into a passion, he's a great host with a friendly staff but, unfortunately, only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday - but maybe that's how he keeps the quality and atmosphere. We'll be back ¡ojala!

“A little Gem, don't miss it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

This place is small and inconspicuous but it has a huge selection of tapas on the menu.
The service was very good and quick. The waitress was very knowledgeable about menu items.
All of the tapas we had were deliciious. Try the Fried Lettuce! Everyone was friendly and the owner even joined us for awhile sharing his expertise on craft beer. It was a great way to spend the evening.
