“It felt like home”
Reviewed May 27, 2009

I stayed at the Ajijic Suites for 2 months (Mar.,Apr./09) -my suite was will appointed with a full fridge, gas stove and all the kitchen utensils I required. The hotel is very conveniently located - a 5 minute walk to the main plaza and shops. Internet access was excellent, laundry facilities were available (small fee), and airport service was provided for a fee - very convenient. The proprietors (Elaine and Luis) were helpful and promoted an hospitable environment. Bottled water was provided as were luxurious thick towels and maid service - all in all a great experience - I loved it!!

Not only is the hotel clean, comfortable, and secure, but it also provides many of those little extras which are the hallmark of quality. These include free telephone, English library, airport transportation (small fee), laundry (small fee), and outstanding information on the sights and restaurants of the village. Ajijic Suites definitely provides outstanding value.

Our stay with Elaine and Louis at Ajijic Suites was more than we expected.
We came to Ajijic to explore a new area with future retirement options.
The price and reviews of this quaint hotel lead us in the door. But once there we realized the unexpected benefits of hooking up with this wonderful couple. We are raving fans! They were able to provide not only local tourist highlights but valuable insight into the inner culture and resources. If you are considering retirement in AJijic stay here and listen more than you talk. Everything works off a network of friends in Ajijic.
Make your first friend Elaine and Louis at Ajijic Suites. Suites? Hardly. Consider it sweet insight. We are still looking for a place to retire. La Paz in next. We can only hope to meet someone like Elaine and Louis in each area we explore. The same holds ture for finding a comfortable home away from home.

We stayed with Elaine and Luis several nights. I've stayed in hotels all over the world . I've never stayed in a hotel that felt likea home. The decor is very soothing. Elaine is a jewel of a person who goes outside of what we consider normal. I'd say this - if you stay in Ajijic and you don't stay with Elaine and Luis you've missed a special place and very special people.

Please, don't confuse Ajijic Suites with Ajijic Plaza Suites. Ajijic Suites is at 72 Hidalgo Street in Ajijic, Mexico. It's a few blocks from the Plaza and a easy walk to the Lake Chapala Society and all the goings on of the village. It's quiet, squeaky clean, with free drinking water, maid service, high speed internet and telephone service local and to the US. The best thing is Elaine your hostess. She is a wealth of information, no matter what interest you. She cares for you and your safety of your belongings. She even sent her charming husband Luis to pick me up at the airport in Guadalajara. That was an extreme relief as I am a single lady traveling alone. The climate was most perfect and the village was full of interesting people, well traveled, educated and enjoying a causal life style. I spent 18 days each one relaxing and learning something new.
I highly recommend this hotel and Ajijic as a haven from our normal busy lives.

If you want a relaxing stay in a roomy, comfortable small hotel, this is it. Nothing fancy, but clean & very Mexican. Elaine & Luis made the stay unforgetable. A nice stopover for travelers.

Tucked away on a residential street yet just a few blocks from the Town Square, Lake Chapala, and the main bus route. A pleasant walk to almost anywhere in Ajijic. Excluding the cry of the 'gas man' who can be heard all over Mexico, the Suites are quiet and private. The owners are attentive and helpful. While inexpensive, all the conveniences found in more expensive lodging houses are there. Daily maid service insures that the suites are clean and supplied with the requirements. I did a week stay but could see myself staying longer
