We were planning on staying at Jardines de Baja, a small place not for from Old Mill, but they had no vacancy on Friday night before President's Day weekend. It was dark and were tired and in a pinch, but the young man at Jardines de Baja suggested trying Old Mill, so we did. The office was closed, but a note on a door listed open rooms. The key was inside, and before leaving, we put our payment in a supplied envelope and left the envelope under the office door. The place is simple but perfectly adequate. Shower is hot, even though the water is salty. There is a big jug of potable water in the room, and they have a small kitchen next to the bedroom. Everything is old and in a fish camp style, but clean. The grounds outside are quite nice and provide for pleasant seating. We are happy that there were no laud parties going on during our stay, that could make it quite unbearable, but everything was nice and quiet. A very pretty bay is just outside the restaurant. The restaurant food was fine. We would totally stay here again.

My husband and I have been staying at the Old Mill for the last 17 years..and despite what some are writing on this page..the owners are still Jim and Nancy Harer. The restaurant has changed hands many times but is now owned by the Los Pinos people and is really good. Many of the same waiters are still working there that have been there for years. The owner's will leave a couple room keys available on an 'on your honor' system for nights when they are not booked..usually 3 rooms available and you leave the money in an envelope under the office door. The area is beautiful and the restaurant will serve you cocktails outside and food if you choose.

Room Tip: We like the old rooms as not as much noise from the restaurant but the new rooms are nice and the re...

I returned here after a good first experience! We are traveling to La Paz, so we stopped to spend the night here, heading to an early dinner.
Very friendly staff, and a beautiful view!

The old mill is a very pretty and relaxing place. The food in the restaurant is very good, and i really enjoy the music and events they have. It is very relaxing at night with the water being the view. I would really recommend this place to anyone that enjoys a nice view and great food. Eventhough, i would also recommend to be careful with the service, amount you pay, and the alcholic beverages at the restaurant since the service isn't too friendly, could charge more than they are supposed to, and their alcholic beverages tend to be VERY strong and are given to anybody regardless of their age.

Room Tip: I suggest to select a room that has more of a view.

My wife and I just took a quick fishing trip down to San Quintin Baja CA.
We stayed at the Old Mill Hotel which just recently reopened under new ownership. We were very impressed witheverthing about it. The new owner was very cordial and even offered us a beer upon check in. The rrom was completly renovated, immaculate, had very hot water and every switch and plug worked, which is unusual for a lot of places down there. The daily maid service was great as well. Our room was only $42/night and very large (about 15 x 20) and the bathroom, with a 4' x 6' shower was also huge (about 15 x 10). The Old Mill restaurant next door, which is no longer part of the hotel, had great food and drinks at reasonable prices. Other nearby restuarants with good food that we ate at are Jardines Baja and Celito Linda.

Room Tip: Stay in the newly remodeled section (or the new addition for more$)

Although we usually stay at Jardines we also love the restaurant at the Old Mill. It is more like entering a Tahoe chalet with high wood ceilings. The food and service are friendly and first rate. Our last trip found a sushi bar addition. Situated on the water we always find the seafood selections to be fresh and well prepared. My wife had the Sopas de Marisco (Seafood Soup) and it was outstanding. I opted for fresh fish and it was really good. We haven't stayed at the Hotel yet but talking to others it seems to have that Baja flavor and way off the busy highway for peach and a good nights sleep.
