Hello, would like to share some info on beuna vista beach resort and hotel. I have been visiting this place since 1985. I/we have enjoyed many trips here, some fishing trips and some just for the relaxation. The resort is beautiful, the familia Valdez are just a wonderful bunch and the staff is great with most having been here for years. Everytime we go we are treated like family, we have been at all different times of the year with never a bad experience. There are not many resorts that you can go to for over 25 years and be able to say that. If we come for the fishing and don't do really well, It is made up for by the people and good times had doing other things like hanging by the pool with drinks from Ricardo, visiting with all the nice people, riding atv's for the afternnon to some of the interesting sites. Waterfalls, streams that appear from the ground and run a ways then disappear again back into the ground. Riding horses on the beach, Snorkeling right down in front of the resort where you see tons of fish. You can go into los barilles and have dinner/ drinks/ shop. We have left the resort and gone on day trier ps down to San Jose, Los Cabo's. Over the years the fishing has had it's up's and down's but overall is still very good and with the catch and release programs it is still some of the best in the world. We have caught stripped marlin, dorado less than a mile off the beach and when you are trolling there is so many interesting things that you are never bored, the crews on the boats are very friendly and helpful. Most speak very good english and the few that don't i have never had any problems being understood or understanding what they are saying..After a good day of fishing, Quick shower and out to the pool for some refreshments an meeting/ visiting with some of the great people that also enjoy the resort. I could go on for hours but i think this should give you a good idea how wonderful this place and the people truly are... ENjoy your trip and maybe we'll see you there....

This was our second stay at HBV. My wife loves relaxing around the pool and the camraderie of "happy Hour" and I enjoy taking my flyrod to the beach to see what I can hook. The quietness of the East Cape area is a nice change from the "hustle" of the more touristy areas (like Cabo) and a very relaxing place to visit.

This hotel is a fishing destination of note and with a fleet of well kept boats and experienced crews to help you take advantage of the excellent inshore or offshore fishing that surrounds this area, While this is happening, other family members particularly younger ones can enjoy the pool complex and beach. The beach is really a nice change from the other Mexican vacation destinations that we have visited (Cancun, PV, Cabo, Puerto Penasco). It is clean , empty and stretches both ways for miles!

Although the hotel rooms may be considered by some as small and the furnishings dated, they are very serviceable and comfortable. The clean, well maintained grounds, with its varied flora and bird life really add to the atmosphere of the hotel. We went on the "American Plan" and found the menu varied and the food superb although the wine list was somewhat limited. The Valdez family and staff does its best to make you feel welcome and to look after special requests all with efficiency and a smile.

We think that overall the hotel offers good value in a great area and we are already planning to return for a third time.

The overall experience at the hotel was very good. The rooms are a little dated and the bathrooms small but the location by the beach was excellent as was the pool. The fishermen in our party had a great day one day and a so-so day on the other day that they fished. The ATV rides were fun. Don't expect much in the way of tourist attractions -or night life. If you want that, go to Cabo. It was very relaxing and unhurried. The food was good to very good and our waitstaff was great. The landscapping around the hotel is beautifully maintained.

We had an awesome trip, flying from Missouri with no hassles before we knew it we were in the East Cape! We rented a car from Los Cabos Airport and arrived at the resort in about 40 minutes.

Check in was easy, Carla showed us to our room and we were so impressed with the beautiful, lush landscaping throughout the resort, flowers and palm trees everywhere! The hotel room was spacious and clean overlooking the beautiful pool literally steps to the white sand beaches of the Sea of Cortez.

Glad we took advantage of the American plan we were spoiled with four course meals at their beautiful restaurant overlooking the Sea of Cortez. The food was fresh and was absolutely delicious (Jesus and Patricia were great servers and spoiled us rotten) They also have a beautiful pool which is huge and offers volleyball, fountains, and a swim up bar and they do make some great strawberry margaritas!!

We took out the 28ftr. boat 3 Hermanos with Captain Romano & Tio two days and caught some BIG Dorado! I have to say the resort is soo organized they literally take care of everything, the fishing equipment, drinks, lunch...Felipe Valdez is so kind and very accomodating he actually takes your order for lunch the night before and packs up the coolers, etc on the boat for you the morning of. They serve you breakfast bright an early so all you have to do is show up for the boat at 7 am!! It was a fantastic experience for an avid fisherman and his wife who doesn't fish too much (likeme) I can't say enough about Captain Romano & Tio they knew exactly where the fish and both were so gracious and kind with a great sense of humor! My husband caught some big dorado both days (we went out 2 days) He was absolutely thrilled...they even lent him a pole so he could fish from shore and gave us the use of their cool brand new fishing kayaks...the really went out of there way to make sure our vacation was spectacular!! We will be going back in August! If you have any questions please email me at griesbach6@hotmail.com

We made last minute plans to go to Baja, based on the high prices in the Bahamas and Cancun. Baja is cheaper right now.
We enjoyed the pool and beach so much, we hardly left the hotel. Being Alaskans, just soaking up the sun poolside was good enough for us. We are hotel owners ourselves, and were perfectly happy here with our toes in the sand. Yes it is Mexico, and sometimes the service is slow and meals spotty, but we were very happy here on the full American plan. We had visited the area previously and none of the attractions were enough to get us out of the pool. Just a glorious week tanning, swimming and enjoying the views. Get up at dawn to watch the sun rise and sierra mackrel fishing off the beach. I wrote this review to help others find this quiet retreat with beautiful grounds and pool by the Sea of Cortez. A special compliment to spa services also. It would also be good for families. The hotel is promoted for fishing, but that is not necessary to enjoy the area. The area is arid, but the hotel has a hot springs and ample good water. Family run.
