Avoid the crowds, rent a SHELL on Barefoot beach. They drive you over and come by every 15 min. if you want to go to the crowded part of the island.
Snorkeling a must. Saw Sting Rays, big fish, Lime Sharks.

We have been to coco cay twice out of 5 attempts. The island is nice and peaceful. I've never been there when there are two ships there at the same time, but on the smaller ships (majesty monarch) it wasn't too crowded. Decent snorkeling, it's good for a beach day.

KEEP IN MIND that they miss this stop VERY often. We have missed once in February and twice in July. Since we only cruise once a year, we haven't been to coco cay since 2010. Two times the water was too choppy for people to get off the ship, and the third time there was a storm coming so the captain wanted to sail in another direction. It was the most disappointing on the 7 day cruise on Freedom, 4 days at sea was way too much. They should have a back up stop.

Spent August 6th here as part of our cruise on Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas. An absolutely wonderful day at this island. Spent over three hours snorkeling at my leisure and now I'm hooked on it! The water was clear and very calm. Snorkeling area was huge. The beaches did not feel crowded and there was plenty of shade.

My only complaints were probably more to do with the cruise line policies than the island itself. The signature cocktail there, the coco Loco came in a souvenir cup. I was told that every drink purchase included a cup and that I could not get a reduced price on the purchase, even for a refill. At almost $11 a pop for a rum-based drink that's ridiculous. You could at least cut a couple of bucks off and offer it in a disposable cup or a reduced price refill. The only other complaint was about the buffet. That was the only time you really felt the crowds on the island as the line to get food was pretty hectic. The only thing I think could solve that would be a second buffet set-up or a more extended dining time.

Overall though, it was a hugely enjoyable experience and the sand, sun, shade, and trees were great! Tons of fish and a wonderful island vibe. I'd go back again in a heartbeat (though I would not be ordering the $11 drinks)

This place as a lot of activities to offer, whether it's for family, couples, friends, etc. My girlfriend and I went snorkeling and loved it. The beaches here are beautiful and clean. For kids, there's an aqua park to keep them entertained. The only downside of this place is there is no options for food; you're limited to whatever the cruise ship cooks have to offer.

If you get off your cruise ship at coco cay, make sure to grab the first or second tender to shore before the maddening hordes descend. The island is actually quite beautiful before it gets crowded, especially if you take the time to walk around to the beaches on the south side. Once the crowds arrive, it's a little less fun, but there is still plenty of sunbathing and activities. Snorkeling was good, but again it's smart to go early before the crowds cloud the water, and instead of heading straight out to the seagrass beds hook a left after the first breakwater on Snorkel Beach for the best fish viewing and reef snorkeling. For kids, don't miss the power wheels track - it's like a go kart track for toddlers, and easy to miss.
