We agree the best place to "sprawl out" is Barefoot Beach (to the right of the area where the tender boats come in). There aren't a lot of people on this side of the island and it's very peaceful (no music). Lunch was okay, but nothing to write home about. Be wary of the seagulls (sea rats) when eating lunch. Do NOT leave your plate unattended on the table if you decide to walk away. The seagulls are wicked and will steal your food if you don't shoo them away. The island was clean and well organized. We only stayed about 4-hours in the morning and left after lunch.

This is Royal Caribbean's private island - Norwegian's island (Big Stirrup Cay) is nearby.
So much to do or do nothing at all ! We went on the waverunner tour , it was wonderful! So much fun. They stop 3 times to tell you about the history and also on a sandbar to briefly swim if you want to. I've taken jetski tours in a few places along the keys and Key West and this was the best one in my opinion. The snorkeling was great too. There are lots of toys to play with if you desire (surfboards, paddle boats, catamarans, etc ). Plenty of chaise lounges and hammocks for everyone. I believe there is always only one cruise ship using the island at a time. Loved it and can't wait to go back .

This private island is just for cruise ship passengers, and the food and drinks are catered just for the day. It is lovely, safe, pretty, relaxing. BUT, the snorkeling is fantastic. There are so many bright-coloured tropical fish, and they don't swim away when you are hovering over them. It was a delightful stop over in our Norwegian Cruise from New York to Nassau.

Loved the view and the water was great. We went snorkeling and had a great time. The food was better than the buffet on the ship. I only wished R/C would make this a two day stop instead of floating around on the cruise day.

We stopped here on our last day of the cruise. We made our way to the less crowded Barefoot Beach section, where four of us found four chairs to keep under the shade and four to drag to the edge of the water. We brought buckets of drinks so that we didn't have to make the trek back and forth very often. I thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling, especially in the Barefoot Beach area because the waves were not as big, and I saw a larger variety of marine life (although not as plentiful as all of the multitudes of fish in the main snorkeling area). But, my husband and our friend were not able to snorkel due to facial hair causing gaps under the goggles and persistently flooding with water. We were disappointed about this and wish we had known before spending the $32 on snorkeling. Also, we were automatically charged $2 for the specialty cups for Coco Locos, regardless of whether you want the cup or not. And, they would not refill the cup, so we ended up buying a new cup with each drink--definitely a rip off! Despite this, the water and view was so beautiful and we had so much fun.
