Description: There are few places to stop and eat along this portion of the Alaska Highway. This restaurant started out a few years ago as a small cafe, and last year built their present quarters. We've stopped there to eat a few times, and it would be good to review it.

“Rustic but Friendly”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

We had planned to stay at Buckshot Betty's but were delayed by several hours and due to some phone problems could not connect with the staff to check-in when we arrived at 11:00 PM. Luckily we found a room nearby.

So we had breakfast at Betty's and resolved the issue of the previous night's reservation. The staff was friendly and did not charge us for the unused room.

Breakfast was fine, and as someone else wrote, there are few choices in Beaver Creek.

“ok, and not much more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2012

Well, you do not have a lot of choice; so here is ok; think a burger and fries, and you will be ok; Staff is nice, but very overworked. a bit dreary inside, the deck is better. you can get booze here; and you may need it if you stay in Beavercreek.

“An interesting experience! Good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

Imagine entering a restaurant at about 5:00 pm in the early evening and being greeted with a big hearty "Hello!" . . .

. . . and then being told that the restaurant was almost out of food!

"We have no salads since we have no lettuce, we have no tomatoes, we have no" . . . on and on!

It turned out that the owner and another employee had gone to Whitehorse a few days earlier and had truck troubles, so they were unable to get back with the normal supplies.

Well, we were hungry so we asked just what did he have? Actually there were quite a few choices still available. We ordered a large pizza ($24) for the four of us which was plenty for our dinner. No tomatoes, but he threw on mushrooms instead :-)

The fellow was very friendly and was trying hard to keep everything lighthearted in a difficult situation. I think he succeeded, as more customers came in only one couple turned around and left. He seemed to be the only employee and we could see him fixing the pizza, as well as waiting and clearing tables. So service was a little slow with just one employee there, but nobody complained. A bit later another girl joined him and she said she had just finished cleaning all the rooms.

The pizza was quite good and the beer was cold :-)

Nice clean restaurant with home cooking. Ate supper and breakfast there. All was pretty good. :) Probably the best place in town.

“Best choice in Canada's westernmost city”

Simple, inexpensive fare produced by a two-person combo restaurant, RV park, motel, etc. Best place to eat for many miles. Try the pie.
