“Natural Wonder”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

This lake has a very high mineral content, similar to the Dead Sea, which means you will float in the water very easily. On windy days the lake kicks up tonnes of salty foam, which looks like snow when it piles up on the banks. The main road of Manitou follows the edge of the lake around it's perimeter, which makes for a very scenic walk or drive.

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The view, the people, the sand, and most importantly the water are what make this little hideway such a great place to go this summer. It is one of the wonders of Canada and something one must experience!

“Nice lake”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

This is not a busy, commercialized resort. It's the kind of place where people come to relax. The healing salt waters and laid-back pace tend to attract lots of older people and hippies :) The water is salty, so don't expect to catch any fish or go boating, except maybe sailing. You can float really well though! The water level has increased significantly in recent years, so the beaches are starting to disappear. Make sure to check out historic Camp Easter Seal, Wellington Park, and the drive-in movie theater (one of only a few left in the province) while you're there.

“Won't go back on purpose.”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

I've heard about the salt water lake and a group went to see it etc. The campground was great. But that's not the review. The lake would have to be overrated. Yes, it is salt water, but the algae threw me off. The beaches were small and just not great. If you are going expecting some GREAT thing, trust me, it aint there. Nothing makes we want to go back.
