Although there are very traditional Italian flavours, there are also some interesting items I haven't seen elsewhere, usually a special pasta as well. Excellent ingredients, great service and a good time. Highly recommended.

Anniversary dinner was excellent with attentive owner and staff. Not cheap, but worth it (in spite of the weak US dollar). Lots of meat and country dishes on the menu; vegetables and salads were fresh and plentiful.

This is a very pleasant restaurant in a rural setting on the outskirts of Sutton Quebec. The decor is rather "heavy" with a lot of "stuff" decorating the place. Some may not find this to be a problem, but I found it to be a bit cluttered (but clean). The garden on the grounds is very pleasant and invites you into the restaurant.

The menu has a number of nice selections and the wine list is good. Folks had told us the the veal shank was especially good. We did not find this to be the case - the sauce was overly strong and the meat was not nearly as tender as it should have been. Our group had also been advised that the pasta was not particularly good at this restaurant and those who had it that night confirmed that this was indeed the case. The chicken course that one in our party had was good. The salmon starter course was very good. All in all an acceptable dinner, but a bit pricey for the quality. This place came highly recommended by the local tourist information center, but we did not find that it lived up to the level of the recommendation. It was good for sure, but not exceptional.

The restaurant was empty except for one other table with four guests. The waiter was rather impatient. If one of us was a bit slow (e.g. in selecting one of the items for one of the two courses), he jumped to another guest at the table rather than waiting a bit. This was uncomfortable for us and not in keeping with what one would expect for a fine restaurant. This behavior might be understandable in a filled and very busy restaurant, but this was not the case and aside from the other table, our group was the only one in the restaurant. Other than this aspect, the service was good.

All in all, good food in a nice location. We would return, but make selections with care.
