Located in eastern end of town, this cathedral has a long history. Once visited by the Pope. Not very commercial although there efforts underway to make it more of a tourist attractions. Still an active church.

Must see if you are in Quebec City. It is not exactly in the city however. Towards Montmorency Falls and beyond. Every bit of the visit was worth it.

Located just 60km outside of Quebec City, the basilica provides an awe-inspiring experience. It's sheer size and wondrous beauty render one speechless. Take the guided tour (free) to get a good perspective on what the art and mosaics represent. From there follow La Route de Nouvelle France to follow the path of the early settlers.

A visit can consume more than a few hours. Shops nearby have very resonably priced items. Lots to do around the basilica.
