This is a real authentic sugar shack (cabane à sucre). Feels like you are going back in time to a quieter, slower, more pleasant era. A wonderful ambiance. You go right into the woods and feel away from the hustle & bustle of the city. The folks are super friendly. They really make you feel welcomed and go out of their way to try to please you. The eating area is clean, quaint, and pleasant. The waiters and watresses are wonderful. The food is to die for. We nejoyed our visit immensly. The price is higher than most other places around Montreal - BUT- well worth it. You pay for an excellent time. Of all the sugar shacks I have been to, this one is truly the most authentic. I recommend it highly. BRAVO to the staff for EXCELLENT service.

After researching sugar shacks on the internet I chose this one for celebrating my boyfriend's birthday. I booked a reservation for a Tuesday at 6pm and we were the only people there which was great because we had an incredibly intimate and romantic dinner!! We were greeted by a lady who was our dedicated tour guide/server for the night. Prior to dinner we were given a tour of the facilities with an explanation of how maple syrup is made. Since they had not yet started tapping the trees this year, we only saw the unused equipment.

After the brief tour, we returned to the lodge to have our dinner and were seated by the fireplace. The food was delicious!!! The meal starts with soup and then an assortment of meat, potatoes, and other scrumptious items. Despite there only being two of us the food was ridiculously fresh and you could tell that it wasn't being reheated. The service was wonderful - the lady that served us very sweet and really tried to make it a special night for us. We were not rushed when eating the meal and they even put sparklers into the dessert for my boyfriend's birthday.

This place was well worth the 45 min - 1 hr drive from Montreal. The food is incredible and there are free refills of food. It is great value and you get to eat "authenic" quebecois fare. In my opinion it is a great mini get-away for those looking for something different and who would like to get out of the city.

We just stopped in for soup while skiing. The Pea soup was excellent, served with home made bread. We were enticed to have the pancakes, which were excellent, especially smothered in their own maple syrup.
