We arrived at 2:00pm and stayed until close, and although the park was busy due to the Canada Day long weekend, it was still a great day trip! Parc Omega never disappoints!

Bring your own carrots or apples and you'll get a chance to feed all sorts of animals, from large wapitis to smaller deer and boar. Check out the trout pond and feed the fish, or make your way to the farm and see the barnyard animals (always a favourite for our kids!)

If you do go, be courteous and keep your car to one side of the road, that way if someone wants to pass you, they can.

All in all, we visit Parc Omega at least once a year, and usually 3-4 times!

This 2000 acre wild animal park is fabulous. We took our 8 year old grandson there. We bought about big bags of carrots from the local grocery store before we went and were met at the gate by 2 large deer and some wild pigs. We saw everything except the moose who seemed to be hiding that day. The animals roam free and can hide of come out to great you at their descretion. We also saw wolves, bears, cayotes and buffalo which you couldn't feed. I was so fascinated with feeding the welcoming heads at my car window that I couldn't even find time to grab my camera. We also rented a golf cart and drove to a replica farm. So enjoyed the whole experience. Would highly recommend it. A radio station tape talks you through the experience.

The park provides a nice leisurely drive thru to see numerous animals up close. Unlike some animal parks or zoos where you see 1 or 2 species here you will see plenty of them. There are many bears, boars, coyotes, wolves, deer, elk, etc. You can feed most of the animals from the comfort of your car. Carrots seem to be the favorite. You can buy carrots at the park however we brought our own. The price was $20 per adult and some may find that a bit much but when you consider the upkeep of a park like this it's reasonable. It was an enjoyable afternoon.

Kids totally loved the site because of the opportunity to see animals up close, get a chance to feed them. The park covers large area with opportunities for hiking and viewing nice scenery. June was a great time with baby and/or young boar, bears, coyotes at play (necessity for short discussion on procreation near the bears though, so get ready for that if you visit in the active spring, early summer season...).
Difficult, though not think about what this dependency on humans feeding carrots does to the animals. Thus, if you are the kind who tends to not be able to turn off the voice of reason and real nature conservation -- no amount of kids smiles and thrills will help you get through the hours of touring the trails. The kids we had with us (12, 10 and 8) most certainly loved it and it filled up a full day for fun in a short distance from Ottawa.
