We bought our tickets six months in advance for the English tour which is relatively new. Many of our group of 20 were French speaking and could not obtain a ticket for the French tour. Arrive early for parking. Washrooms are Johnny on the spots in the parking area. No eating is permitted on the tour. The tour is 2-1/2 hours with little opportunity for sitting. The whole process was very well coordinated by the volunteers. It is not called Quatres Vents for nothing . . . it can be very windy and our group were wearing jackets for the tour in August. There are 30 small gardens with many focal points and much attention to detail which is pointed out by the guide. Colin Cabot was at the end of our tour which was magnificent. I would return again in different month. Only open four times a year, the funds collected go to a charity. If you have difficulty walking you will find this challenging. As this is a private home, many steps do not have any rails and can be very uneven. Our guide was excellent and made the tour come alive.

The two and a half hour walk through the gardens is something I cannot adequately describe. The gardens are Frank Cabot's masterpiece. At every corner a new surprise awaits as you experience this man's passion for horticulture and the magnificence of the location.

We bought our tickets months in advance and had no idea what to expect. We are not garden enthusiasts - but had read the reviews here and wanted to see what it was all about. The volunteer guides (thank you Anne) are wonderful. The team that welcomed us and checked us in were friendly and helped to make sure that we were on an English tour (there is only one per day and it books up fast).

If you are planning a trip to this area be sure to plan ahead to be here on one of the 4 days each year that the Cabot family opens the gardens to the public. (Ticket sales benefit a local children's education program).

The artistry and expertise that when into creating this magnificent private garden is everywhere evident. There isn't anything to dislike. If you don't understand French, make sure to sign up for the few English tours available.

These "heritage" gardens are only open to the public on four weekends during the year and they are book up to a year in advance. Well worth the effort to see.

Such a remarkable garden, with a surprise around every corner. The only negative was that, although our tour did not feel rushed, this garden requires many, many more hours to absorb than are available on the tour. I will just have to come back!
