Nice big property with such a beautiful historic home with a gracious and accommodating host Jane as a new owner. Jane is also the relative of the original owner of the house so this place is dear to her. Went there because my husband cycled the PPJ trail. Stayed in a big room on the 3rd floor with sloping ceilings, and a big bathroom. Had lunch at the quaint Bryson House which we really enjoyed.

We visit the picturesque Pontiac region at least once a year and lodging options are limited. We were delighted to find this top-notch Bed & Breakfast and nothing else comes close to it in the area. The owners made us feel right at home and welcomed us to explore their beautiful home. Our two teenagers enjoyed having a room (especially a bathroom) of their own with twin beds and the many stories that Glen shared while we were there. Marlene prepared a lovely breakfast made even more enjoyable when served in the stately dining room. We look forward to our next stay at the Spruceholme.

Room Tip: enjoy the free wifi

What a fantastic base from which to spend a long weekend, or in our case, more than a full week exploring the Pontiac region of Québec. The wonderful proprietors suggested many day trips and local places of interest. Having previously stayed at Spruceholme in the winter, the Pontiac in summer is a totally different experience – yet equally fantastic. From golf, to swimming in the Ottawa River, whitewater rafting, to a full-scale summer rodeo, this place offers an entirely reacquaint-yourself-with-nature kind of experience unavailable in the city. Spruceholme, itself, is like stepping back in time, but with all the modern conveniences (even free wifi !!) Be sure to explore the whole house, as we did, to truly experience Spruceholme Inn.

My husband and I stayed here the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. The host and hostess were wonderful. They left the door open for us so we could come in late (since we were arriving after our wedding) and they served us breakfast later so we could sleep in! The breakfast was the best breakfast we have ever had!! Fresh croissants, delicious french toast, fresh fruit all served in the beautiful little sunroom on the 2nd floor. The decor was astounding and the bedrooms and bathrooms huge. We can't wait to go back! I would highly recommend this B&B. We stayed at tons of places on our honeymoon and this was probably the nicest for the price.
