“A little charming place hiden off the beaten path!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

Our family booked the two-bedroom suite, which has a small living room, a private bath room, one room with a king (or Queen) size bed, and the other one with two twin beds. A great set up for a family! The owners are very friendly and helpful. Although it doesn't have the ocean view from the rooms, but we really enjoyed the stay there. It was very clean, cozy, and every room has been tasteful decorated. The breakfast was fantastic as well, we got served with the baked apple french toast with some fresh fruits. I have to say, this is the best French toast I ever had. Victoria is such a quaint little town, and everything is within walking distance. The only warning is that the most restaurants close around 8pm while we were there. I just wish I ordered something at the hotel before we head out for our walk to the wharf in the evening.

We stayed only one night in this beautiful 100 yr old hotel now a B & B. Really wish we could have spent more. We had the smallest but coziest room in the house. It is very quiet little town so no noise at all. We had the most amazing homemade breakfast. Eggs benedict, fresh fruit, all served on fine dinnerware. The tea room and the whole house are filled with anitques. We sat on the porch and played checkers while waiting for breakfast. If you are staying for any length of time, this would be a perfect location as a base to discover PEI. Wendy and Richard are great hosts and go out of their way to make sure that your stay is a memorable one. Will definitely stay again when we return to PEI

Room Tip: The hotel may not sit right on the ocean but the views are extraordinary and the rooms are very well...

When my mother and I arrived in Victoria-by-the-Sea, we expected to find the Orient Hotel on the waterfront, as the website said "every room has an ocean view". Imagine our surprise as we followed the signs to a hotel two blocks from the waterfront facing not south to the water, but east.
A local showed us the brochure the previous owners had put out and it said nothing about "ocean views" because there really aren't any. Our stay was pleasant, the staff friendly, the breakfast in the dining room was delicious, but we couldn't shake our disappointment. We immediately told the proprietor we were staying 2 , not 3 nights, and found ourselves a charming B&B on the ocean for our final night in PEI.
I do recommend this hotel, but do not expect a waterfront location to await you.

Room Tip: The two-bedroom suite has its own living room and was the home of the original owner of the hotel. I...

This mid June we stayed at the Orient Hotel in Victoria PEI. This picturesque hotel and village located in the middle of the south shore of the island about equal distance from the ferry and the Confederation Bridge proved to be an ideal base for our forays into the island's interior .Short scenic drives to Cavendish,New Glasgow and Charlottetown occupied most of our stay.
However, we were always glad to return "home" to Victoria for some fresh seafood and libations at a nearby dock restaurant.
Our gracious hosts, Wendy and Richard made the most wonderful and inventive breakfasts in beautiful surroundings ...all included in the reasonable price of the room.

We visited the Orient Hotel in mid-September and we were delighted with the warm welcome we received from Wendy & Richard. The accommodations were quite comfortable and the common space is very attractively decorated. We had a great breakfast the next morning in the Tea Room. We found many interesting things to do strolling through the very small town of Victoria which included a home made chocolate store, a gourmet meal at the Landmark, and visiting with many artisans in their home studios. We even went to a one woman play at the historic Victoria Playhouse. All in all a lovely stay.

We stayed at the Orient Hotel for 3 nights in July of this year. Richard and Wendy are marvelous hosts and were very helpful with any information that we required. The location is excellent, and it's an easy walk to everything in the village. The whole town is charming and everyone is very friendly.

Our room was on the third floor and consisted of a bedroom sitting area and enormous bathroom. PEI was in the middle of a heat wave with record breaking temperatures all over the island and there was no air conditioning in our room. However, we found that we were quite comfortable with the windows wide open all night and we were not bothered by any nighttime noise at all.

Breakfast each day was excellent - a choice of muffin or quickbread, cereal and a hot and original egg dish, along with juice, coffee or tea.

The location of the town is not far from the bridge, on the south side of the island and is right on the scenic south shore drive that takes you all the way into Charlottetown. We really enjoyed our stay and when we go back we will definitely stay there again.
