We loved this beach, which was not busy at all. We saw lots of crabs, a small lobster, tons of shells to admire and collect.

Shallow quite far out, and mild surf...

Visited the end of July. We parked our car, in a parking lot, past the boat tour/other buildings. I stayed near the Harbour area, while my husband, daughter and her friend walked to the beach. They had a lovely walk along the beach, and loved it as the waves were crashing in, and they enjoyed the breeze coming off the water. My husband loves 'wild beach days'! Unfortunately, they couldn't spend a long time at the beach, as we were expected elsewhere. We will come back on another visit tho'. We did come here many years ago, and there were many jellyfish, but this year, hardly any of those at the many beaches we went to.

This is a great family beach. The water gradually deepens so the toddlers can play near the waters edge. There is a guarded area and the beach is very deep. Souvenir shopping is close by as well are washrooms. I dont recommend a walk on the breakwater as it is quite a challenge even for adults. The beach is long enough for a good walk but not so long as to make you overly tired on the return trip. It is not uncommon to see people enjoying a snack or "beverage" on the beach in a very relaxed atmosphere. Fishing boats are constantly heading out for deep sea fishing excursiuons (I recommend "Beauty and the Beast") The beach feels very cozy around four o-clock and sunset times are awesome.

On the day we booked a fishing a trip from Joey's, we stopped at this gem of beach. Powdery golden sands greeted us, accessing a beach with lots of room to play. There was a buoyed off area that was deep enough to swim in if you went out far enough, and a shallow sand bar that was an excellent place to play catch with a frisbee and football. If you decide to walk out on the old wharf at the south end of the beach, where some kind of footwear, it is kind of rough on bare feet as I found out.

Apparently this is where the locals like to go. We were directed by one of the locals or we may have not even known it was there. Part of it is in the National Park and is supervised but if you enter a little further down, you can park and walk. It is very beautiful and sandy. It was better for our daughter because there aren't the big rocks in the water like we found at Cavendish. I would definitely go here first next time!
