Our family chose to stay in Mount Stewart, PEI, for a few days for its proximity to the Confederation Trail bike path (3 possible directions from this location). We did enjoy biking one day, but we also loved the easy proximity to Charlottetown and the whole central and eastern sides of the island.
So, the location of Water's Edge B&B was ideal, and furthermore it was on a small/quiet/dead-end street right on the river but also just off the main section of town.
The upstairs bedrooms were very comfortable and pleasant and lovingly decorated, and two sitting rooms and breakfast nook overlooking lovely gardens were also solely set aside for guest use. Best of all the hosts Susan and Robert, who are big travelers themselves, were thoughtful and friendly and astute. Susan's muffins and Robert's egg dishes were happily consumed amongst their kind advice and knowledge of the island. Yes, our teen daughter found that the little flying insects on PEI meant you needed to wear bug spray, but that was our only wrinkle in exploring the island countryside. (One note: to rent bicycles, you'll need to go to nearby Morell or St. Peters or Charlottetown. We were super happy with Kingfisher Outdoors in Morell, which also offers canoes & kayaks.)
