“Perfectly wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2009

The location, grounds and home are pristine, with care given to every detail. Do you like to enjoy a full breakfast on a beautifully set table while looking to the sea? You'll love this place! The home is furnished well, with great care given to each room. The beds are comfy, the rooms quiet, the butlers' pantry stocked with lovely treats. Having booked only one night, we decided within minutes to book a second night! Marsha and Bob are also give good tips for exploring the island.

An incredible find and truly the best B&B that I've ever stayed at. Marsha and Bob made everyone feel so welcomed into their beautiful home. Between the relaxing environment, the fabulous location, the delicious gourmet breakfast and homemade desserts, and the gracious hospitality, this was a Bed and Breakfast that deserves the highest praise.

From the outset, we knew we were in for a treat. Upon booking and explaining arrival times, Marsha offered to have a light dinner ready for us, as there would not be a restaurant open at that time. As this is a bed & breakfast (ie, no restaurant on site), this was therefore something that she simply did out of the goodness of her heart and from her own kitchen.

Following this warm greeting, we were further impressed by the beauty of the entire home and the elegance yet coziness of our room in particular.

Each morning we were greeted cheerfully by Marsha, who always had an amazing spread of gourmet delights ready for us as we arrived in the dining room. To say the least, we never went away hungry - in fact, we typically couldn't eat again until supper! She also seemed to always be available to greet us as we came in at night, offering some home-baked goodies and coffee or tea before bed.

Finally, we want to be sure to comment on the amazing views, the georgous grounds from flower gardens, to manicured lawn, down to the beach and the ocean beyond. Very beautiful and peacefully relaxing.

I certainly would recommend this location very highly and hope to stay again on my next return to the island!

We have stayed at many B and B's so I can confidently say that this was a rare find. Without repeating everything from the previous review, all the glorious terms were accurate... Fantastic, stunning, beautiful view, relaxed, secluded. The butler's pantry available to you 24 hours a day, the formal dining room and service, screened porch with rockers, beautifully decorated bedrooms (2 having their own terraces which can be seen in our pictures) were just the basics of this experience.
It was the attention to detail that really should have raised their rating to 10 stars.
Marsha's greeting at the door tells it all. We felt like we were family visiting their home. From the personal note that awaited us in our room, to the package of home-baked cookies waiting on the table the day we left, everything was catered to our needs. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but I knew immediately that would not be enough so we extended our stay for 3 nights. Again, this was another way of knowing how exceptional Maplehurst was.
For example, the first morning at breakfast she prepared a gourmet breakfast taking our dietary needs into consideration. I happen to ask if she had sugar-free jelly and she apologized that she did not. The next morning there was sugar-free jelly on the table. She overheard that I liked Club soda... the next day the soft drinks in the refrigerator in the butler's pantry included Club soda.
Our second night there we met a lovely couple from France who had found this B and B from a French tour book. When they translated the review from the book we agreed with all the comments, but especially the last one that said "Maplehurst is truly a rare pearl."
Marsha truly shares her whole house and her whole heart with you.
I will include some of our pictures of our lovely room (so you can see our wood burning fireplace, the private beach, breakfast, etc.
I could go on and on but... one more thing. The grounds are manicures and the house is immaculate.

We were surprised not to see a review of Maplehurst on TripAdvisor, but we decided to check it out anyway, and wow - it is absolutely fantastic.
The place itself is stunning. It has beautiful views of the water, and a relaxed, secluded location.
Our room was perfect - a very comfortable bed, dressed extremely elegantly.
Every detail is taken into consideration, and I really mean every detail - there is a butlers pantry available for guests to make tea, coffee and with fruit, cookies and other munchies. There is a little library room for relaxing. Breakfast was wonderful - homemade quiche, fresh fruit, toast.
Our only regret was that we arrived late in the evening and had to leave early the next morning - if we go back to PEI we will definetly return for a longer period.
The host/owner is extremely gracious and accommodating.
Well worth a visit!
(one small point is that they do only take cash payments, no credit cards - we didn't mind at all, but something to keep in mind)
