“cottage with a hot tub and a note to Japanese tourists in low season”
Reviewed October 3, 2010

We arrived September 19th- low season. Really low season, the second last restaurant in town- Cavendish, closed down and the grocery store was doing the same. Our accommodation was a lovely separate cottage that had a hot tub and relative privacy, a gas fireplace, a well appointed and beautifully furnished 'home'. Unfortunately getting groceries to cook our own meals in low season would have required a drive to another village...but The Pearl restaurant about 15 minutes away was superb as was the meal at the Fisherman's Wharf in North Rustico. **** please note to Japanese tourists that in low season if you do the B&B and come by taxi check to see if there are arrangements for dinners. Evening tea and cookies was a wonderful way to meet other travelers. A sweet place

A treat to stay in the cottages.

We stayed at Kindred Spirits at the end of the summer with our children and their grandmother. The cottages were lovely, spotlessly clean and well stocked. The grounds were immaculate and the rec room and pool were fun for our kids. The fresh baked cookies and tea in the evening were a wonderful treat. Unfortunately we cut our holiday in PEI short because of the hurricane and the owners could not have been more understanding. We would happily vacation there again.

The highlight of our first trip to the Maritimes. The grounds are charming and it is wonderful to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and listen to the quiet in the morning or evening. The rooms were large, comfortable, and quiet. Morning breakfast was delicious and varied the three days we were there. It was available in the beautifully furnished breakfast room with lovely classical music playing softly in the background. We met people from all over the country and the world. We highly recommend this place to people travelling in this area.

We live in South Florida and decided to take a month long trip to explore the historical sights of the Northeast coast. We went to Washington DC, New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Cape Cod, Colonial Williamsburg, Niagra Falls and many other places. But the place we visited that all of our family remembers as the most wonderful and peaceful time was our stay at Kindred Spirits Country Inn and Cottages.

We stayed in a quaint and charming two bedroom cottage with an awesome hot tub jacuzzi spa on our private back porch nestled on the edge of a wooded area. The kids loved it! We have five children ranging from 21 to 6 and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The folks at Kindred Spirits are so kind and thoughtful. When we arrived there were Anne of Green Gables books and LM Montgomery books laid out on the coffee table. Our girls were delighted to see that there were hand written notes in each one welcoming us. Then on each of the girls beds there was an Anne of Green Gables hat complete with red hair and pony tails!

The package we purchased came with all sorts of fun things to do. There were two excellent plays - "Anne of Green Gables" and "Anne and Gilbert" (Musical). These plays were very professional and extremely enjoyable for all of us. We were laughing and crying and having a ball. There was also a little town called Anne of Green Gables Village. I didn't think that I would like it but I really did. There were great actors reenacting various Anne of Green Gables events in the town. There was also a great local band that sang songs and told stories. We bought their CD and listened to it during out trip. Plan on spending an entire day here. We even went back on the next day for more fun!

Prince Edward island itself is such a beautiful location to vacation in. I am sure that not only will we go back again but our children will probably make it a favorite stop for their future vacations as well. One of the really great things included in our package was a trip called Matthew Cuthbert's Carriage Ride. This was a luxuriously long ride through the beautiful countryside where LM Montgomery actually stayed and where she named the Lake of Shining Waters. It takes you through a farm and down to the beach where the kids all got off and played in the sand and explored the cliffs and caves.

If you ever get a chance to visit Prince Edward island make sure you book your stay here at Kindred Spirits Country Inn and Cottages. And oh, by the way, I can't forget to mention the absolutely fabulous breakfasts that you are treated to every morning. Truly gourmet! Thank you Becky and all the kind folks at Kindred Spirits for making our stay with you such a memorable and enjoyable one!

We just returned from a trip to the East Coast of Canada, through PEI, Cape Breton & Nova Scotia and this was the place we enjoyed the most. The kids loved it ( we travelled with 2 teenagers and one 4 yr. old). It is one of the nicest Inn's in the area, and the grounds are beautiful. the pool is clean and well situated, with a hot tub in the corner. Very clean, and the pool is heated. The cottage was exactly the type of accomodation our family of 5 needed. the kitchen was well outfitted, and the rooms very comfortable and clean, and nicely decorated. The kids loved the play park in front of the cottages. The staff are very friendly THere are DVD's you can sign out for free in the lobby, with a DVD player in the room. Also we went into the Provincial Park twice and the front desk will give you a park pass so you don't have to pay the Park admission day fee. Well worth a visit, in a touristy part of PEI this Inn is a very nice getaway tucked right in the middle of things.

We have just returned from Kindred Spirits and had a fantastic time, the staff at the inn make you feel part of their family and regularly have evenings to invite guests to join them for cookies and drinks. The cottages are very clean and beautifully looked after and i always felt that our children were in a safe environment, they absolutley loved it as we did too. Thank you all for making our trip perfect in every way, we will return as soon as we can from the UK. The facilities and location were excellent.

I really love this place,

first of all it is at 800 meters from the beach and just facing the national park. well centered in cavendish. not far from the restaurants and attraction parks. great location for families.

it is super clean, well kept and well designed. the family running this inn makes you feel home. the room we stayed in had a cable tV, microwave and small fridge, iron and iron table, hot tub , kingsize bed, a sofabed and they provided a crib for the baby.

rooms are cleaned daily. towels are changed daily as well. linen are not just clean. they smell freshness.

there is an outdoor hottub and pool open 9-9. they serve a british style breakfast. bacon, french toast, milk, cofee, tea, hot choclate, 8 sorts of juice, and some fruits .

no dogs and no smoking in rooms made this inn suitable for our family.

there is a kids playground, an outside giant chess game, an internet desk in the lobby and free wifi available (but not always a good signal)

this place made our stay in cavendish a wonderfull one. do not hesitate, if the price suits you. this is the place to go.
